This is a Idea that HIT me the other day..I realize that so many of us like to play AH in two ways that I know of..(1) some like to capture bases..(2) some like to furball, well anyone can look on the map and find where the action is especially for the pilots that like to fight in those Furballs for perks.. it's hard to get some pilots to join missions to take bases when thier stuck in this mode..even though some pilots are DEFENDING at times ,some of the pilots want to capture bases..so,here is my Idea..what if the MISSION where perked..what if when a mission has been posted ( for AIRFIELDs only) and pilots have joined that MISSION upon completion ONLY the pilots that joined the mission will get a certain amount of perks, on top of any perks they may get SHOOTING down enemy planes ..what do you think, is it a good IDEA ..or does it BOMB out:D

Here's a better idea. Perk Bish Typh missions :) Make them pay perks to auger their typhs into the ground in unison.
Was pretty funny last night when 20 typhs couldn't knock out all the fighter hangers at a large base (the base near nit HQ). They did however have 20 P38s backing them up. WTG bish for mission participation. That's the kind of multi plane engaments that I'd like to see more often.
Now if we could get all the nit furball dweebs like myself to join more missions, maybe we'd win more often.

It is a good idea. One that's been hashed on and off since the perk system came to AH. But there's some problems that come with it:
- How/why do you distinguish between strategic missions, base captures, and counter-air sweeps?
- Does a pilot get perks if he's shot down during the mission?
- Does a pilot get perks if he's signed up for the mission and then flies elsewhere?
- Does a pilot get perks for a mission just by signing up, taking off and landing?
- How many pilots need to be on a mission before it starts earning extra perks?
You see, the problem is how to regulate the perks. Just saying that missions are worth extra perks just means that we have perk inflation and start seeing a lot more jets in the arena.

good points. Preon..and they make one think..so what do you think about this..
(1)
as far as the first point.I would have it for airfield capture only( it would call for better protection for goons otw to target fields.
(2)
each mission pilot should not get perks if shot down BUT they will have a chance to get perks if they reup & Arrive to the target airfield before goons capture the airfield (to get perk points ,mission pilots MUST be at the field when it's captured)
(3)
as far as How many pilots before perks start earning 20 and above
(4) Vh,and other strat targets should be excluded from this type of system
(5) what do you think about 3 to 5 perks per mission
now it's just an Idea..even though it's been addressed before:)

Okay Roc, now you have to explain some things to the players in Aces High:
Why are you awarding just base capture missions?
What's wrong with a mission to sink a CV?
What's wrong with a HQ strike?
What's wrong with a fighter sweep to overwhelm a furball?
If you have to be "at a field" to earn points, what do you do to define that? Lets say you chase a bad guy off a goon and he drags you so far from the field that you're not around when the last troop enters the maproom that you don't get points... but, didn't you earn them? Compare that to the pilot that dies because he's the only one straffing ack, or the pilot that won't engage at all and doesn't fire a shot in the whole mission.
I can see adding perks to missions, but I wouldn't focus them. I would say that anybody who flies in a mission of 4 or more planes would get a modest multiplier to the perks earned on that sortie (extra 5% perhaps)
maybe that's a good compromise?
-
How many guys would join mission to get extra perks and not do anything to earn they ? The guys in missions now join because they want to and do what they can to make the mission succeed.
-
I think it'd be simple really. You go on a mission, if you land, your perks are multiplyed by 1.5. If you don't land it's business as usual.
This would make missions more attractive and add more cooperation without going perk crazy. It would also help to curb some of the endless drop and auger porking going on out there.
My $.02

Good idea IMO.
Perk multiplier wont help you if you dont earn perks in the mission so guys who drop dont hit anything and auger wont get anything :)

NOW that is a good Idea too..any thing to make mission more rewarding:)
-
i say give 1-2 perks per mission.
...but these 1-2 perks have to be divided up between all participants of the mission.
'course i only like my idea if it applies to missions with more than 20 participants.

I don't know anyone who fights for perks, generally the fight in itself is enough. That being said, I think awarding perks for missions will only result in more gamey noe raids and that is something most of us want no part of.

I like the ideas of perking missions. It should cost people perks start and join missions. Man, that would be great! :aok

Great like replies to 7 year old posts made by someone gone from AH 6 years ago?

The last thing this game needs are more NoE missions to undefended bases IN the corner of the map.
-
This rash of bumped threads is getting old. Smacks of "rules be damned".

Well . . . . obviously the lack of this feature has caused some people to quit! HTC must implement it immediately to prevent more hemorrhagINg of the player base!!!

what's the big deal with earning perks anyway? you should have way more perks than you need. if anything, put a perk price on 3/4 of the plane set.
