Title: ch pro throttle
Post by: AKcurly on November 30, 2002, 01:43:41 AM
I use a ch pro throttle (USB) among other pieces of hardware.  The 8-way hat on the throttle no longer works properly.  Rather than a dirty potentiometer, I no longer get a clear detent when I press down; when I press up, left, right & etc, the hat visibly moves -- but pressing down results in no movement.

I went the ch products page and looked for a manual with instructions on how to disassemble the critter, but no joy.

Any suggestions?

They'll sell you replacement hats in their online store.  Taking apart the Throttle is pretty easy.  You remove the rubber feet from the bottom of the throttle to reveal screws which you remove as well.  After that it's pretty obvious.

Thanks, Funky. :)  I'm afraid it is beyond my limited ability to repair.  I took it apart (as you advised) and it was simple.  But the 8-way hat has 8 half cylinders that the control rests on.  The bottom half cylinder is completely depressed.  I have no idea how to get the housing out and even worse, if I took it out, I would just destroy the circuit board it goes through.

Go War Eagles!  Poor Bama. :(  Poor Ammo. :(
