I just talked to a customer who's last name was Colon.
Of course he didn't say it was Colon, he said it was C-O-L-O-N...but it was Colon.

I wonder if he named his son Rod.

Actually it is pronoucecd Coe-Loan. Just like the city in Panama on the Atlantic side.

67 to 68 Army inf, working for Navy living on Howard AFB. We had a test site just outside of Gatun. The Zone was the best place to hide from Nam:-)

the oakland a's used to have a Troy Penix in their farm system.
i once knew a Mr. studmuffing. he was a customer at a camera shop i worked@ & enjoyed his name...when he had photos to pick up he'd walk in & say loudly "are the studmuffing pictures ready yet?"

Also worked with a guy called Clint Harris... (say it fast :D )

You might be making fun of a descendant of Christopher Columbus... Cristobal Colon (stress in the second "o") :)
BTW... A little recent history trivia. A direct descendant of the discoverer, named also Cristobal Colon was killed by ETA in 1986. He was vice-admiral of the Spanish Navy.

Had a teacher called Mr. Hymen...we all called him Buster.
The MD of our Trust Company is named "Colin"...I call him Colon.

Pongo, it is easy to do. That jungle is some of the worse on the planet. Use to drive from the Pac to Atlantic couple of times a week. A lot of our officers were DOR Navy exFlyers and they all wanted jungle boots and shades. Interesting trip.
