Just a few hopes, prayers, and selfish desires :-):
1. NO AMMO COUNTERS (in planes tha didn't have them)
PYRO since you are looking into letting players adjust their tracer loadouts, why not eliminate the ammo counters?. It will add a lot of historical realism, and a ton of 'pucker factor'! Put some fear and uncertainty into the experience. It was common practice in the war to put tracers near the end of ammo belts. This warned the pilot it was time to go home. (also informed his enemies of his ammo state :-P)
2. G STRESS
I would love to see cumulative airframe damage due to pulling too many Gs. It would change the face of yank and bank furballing, and put a little respect back into the 450ias B&Z at will jocks. All WWII fighters had structural limits that went beyond overspeeding the airframe.
3. FLAP/GEAR deployment.
You modelled damage to these systems when deployed at high speeds once before, how about actually putting them into the game this time :-).
4. BLACKOUT/REDOUT loss of control.
I'd love to see loss of control (or 'slackening') of control when a pilot enters a blackout/redout condition. It may be physically possible to maintain control, actually flying ACM while in blackouts is a joke.

Yeah no ammo counters. Hmm after 36+ hours up in a row my memory might be bit weak, but I recall planes like 47 or 51 having some sorta 'counter' in the wings though? Anyway such device might not be as visible with the resolutions/monitors we use so something else should be used instead.

the fw 190 was the first to have an ammo counter i believe.

If the plane had a counter great! If not...too bad :-)

109s had counters too as far as I know...at least the later models.
err..HTC are planning on letting us disable the tracers? GREAT!
I recall a quote in Shaw's book by an american WW2 pilot about removing the tracer ammo from their planes. He said their kill ratio went thorugh the roof afterwards.

Oh yeah baby!
Only ammo counter to planes that did have them!

It would be great to lose input control during red-out/black-out .If this would cure the "stick-stirrers"and force them to learn some defensive manuevers, I think it would be one of the most significant changes from WB.

Me thinks ammo counters not being on the a/c that had them would be all too cool. Although I would (as stated before) to have the option of loading tracers in the last say 5 - 10% to let you know its time to go home.
also the option of turning off tracers would be I think .. A GOOD THING :P
