Anybody got info on what class of destroyers, cruisers and carriers are in our task groups??
-
Our Cruiser appears to be a BALTIMORE CLASS Heavy Cruiser (CA).
ID points are the large fore and aft super structure, closely placed oval exhaust stacks and the 3 triple 8" inch turrets - two forward and one on the stern.
A good example below is the class leader USS BALTIMORE CA-68 :
-
Our CV appears to be one of the early "Short Hull" ESSEX CLASS Fleet Carriers (CV).
ID points are very easy to recognize with the very easy to see square exhaust stack and the 2 twin 5 inch gun mounts fore and aft of the Island. Single quad 40mm gun mounts on bow and stern.

Nice pick's :)

Our "Destroyers (DD)" are actually Destroyer Escorts (DE). They appear to be the late war RUDDEROW CLASS Destroyer Escorts (DE).
ID points are the single enclosed 5 inch guns fore and aft, single mast, single capped funnel and forward slopeing bridge roof.
Example in the class leader USS RUDDEROW DE-224 below:
-
Our cruiser is actually a Baltimore Class heavy cruiser. The carrier is an Essex class of the "long hull" family. The Destroyers are DE's. All the info can be found over at http://www.warships1.com

Correction:
Your correct Flakbait. Does seem the CA is a Baltimore Class. When back and flew over it again saw you were right. ! Too early in the morning to be doing stuff like that! LOL!
Still say the CV is one of the early shot hull ESSEX's though.
Here is the correct picture for the class leader USS BALTIMORE CA-68:
