I have found that if you are below the wind layer (the eternal 14k for the past few months) you can make multiple runs without recalibrating if you maintain speed and altitude.

Good effort Rod, but not very legible. The best bombing guide I've seen is Kweassa's level-bombing tutorial, seen here:
Level Bombing Explained (http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=57667&referrerid=3559)

I was starting to get problems hitting Fh's (my favourite target)...kept missing by about 1-3 hangar lengths..either short or long....FINALLY figgered out that I was hitting the "U"/end-calibration-key too quickly after marking crosshairs---after I waited like 5 seconds after takin finger off the "Y" button to hit the "U" button....eggs once again hit dead-on

That was an excellent tut, Rod. certainly fixed a few of my problems with bombs falling short of VHs.

My bombing is pin point no guess work where xhiairs r is where your bombs drop. You don't have to wait till target in sight to calibrate. I calibrate 5 to 6 miles from target. waiting to calibrate when city in sight is some times to late. Unless your hitting a undefended base then u may have time.
In his he's telling folks don't bomb where xhairs r drop ahead of xhairs.
Follow what I posted i promiss you you can drop 20k+ with 500's or 30+ with 1000's or more. When I hit Hq i drop exactly on HQ when xhairs on building. No Guess work needed.
1 bomber foramation can take out entire city 2 passes. Now if your after score use 2000's or 1000's. But if your in for team use 500's you can destory all city 2 passes with enough 500's left for vh or hit ack. My first pass will take out 15 buildings on avg and second finishs job
If something doesn't make since to u let me know i'll explain or take u up.

Only suggestion I have is that when bombing CV's you can calibrate on the CV itself. Then you can drop when your corss is on the CV, becuase the movement of the CV is offset by calibration. At least that has been my experience, and I do it from 150-20k.

Havn't tried that alt. found out at 8k alt you will bring all 3 bombers home if no cap. What I do is zoom in as close as possible. And when Carrier is just about out of bomb sight I drop. and if cv turning all you have to do is lead same way in turn. If its turning right u lead 1 ship length to right and 1 ship length in front. if cv turning usally 75%+ I still get cv. Unless a great 5inch gunner is manning cv.

This is all you need to know:
IF your speed AND altitude are constant at time of proper calibration AND remain so to target - you will hit. Always. Regardless of altitude. IF your speed and altitude Do NOT remain constant from last PROPER calibration, you will alway miss.
