I was in the practice arena, and I said "Oh that explains why those turrets weren't kicking my" (end of line) and when I went to finish the sentence with "ass" I got a pop up saying I had been muted for 60 minutes. No explanation from anyone, I didn't swear or vulch or do anything that would merit this...anyone know why that happened?

I believe there is an automated profanity filter. I'd assume that "ass" is one of the keywords that triggers it.

I hadn't even typed bellybutton yet. Is this magical filter psychic as well?
-
Hmmm. Dunno then. Maybe it is.

I believe you need to watch out for the character sequences.
For example, "push it" could trigger the filter. I don't see any of these in your message though. Is that exactly what you said?
Maybe someone who knows more about it might have an idea. I'm spent.

I always thought you got a warning before getting muted as well.

only in the MA. The TA and DA do it instantly.

Ok, so chances are, something I said without realising it made the filter list. Guess I'll be more careful.

Don't worry too much about it, just leave and re-enter the arena and the mute is gone.
