Maybe old stuff but worth asking for me:
In another post people discuss using multiple monitors and even accounts to get a better all around view. This seems technically feasible, but do I really want to fill my tiny, tiny appartment with a multitude of monitors & computers? Do I want to pay for multiple accounts with one our per day average playing time? NO!!! I do love this game but there are bloody limits.
But why don't we have rearview mirrors? I played a number of sims in which this feature was available. I know that when you actualy see someone in it, it probably is too late, but with a quick reflex, you might avoid being killed every now and then. Sounds useful to me, especially when furballing in my beloved FM2 with its stinkin' rear view. I know Spits and early Mustangs and BF109's had mirrors, so why don't have we?

and we have a view system that allows u to "walk around" in the cockpit and set the views they way u want them.
Check the help files for more information about it.

hogenbor, imagine your spitfire is chased by three 109s.
With rear view mirrors, the "image" that needs to be formed on the monitor is
1) 1 spitfire
2) 3 109s
3) 3 109s in mirror reflections
Imagine there are 3 spitfires chasing your spitfire.
1) 4 spitfires
2) 3 spitfire reflections in your mirror
3) {2~3 images in other spit's mirror}x3 = 6~9 images
woppin' total of 16~17 plane positions have to be calculated.

Setting up my views to my liking is a bit too obvious, I'm not THAT new (or stupid). I just think mirrors would be nice.
Kweassa, I've seen many of your posts which show a lot of knowledge about the game and everything related to it, so I trust your judgement. I'm not a programmer so I cant comment on the argument that it would cost too much performance. Maybe for the future then?
Cheers,
Ronald

Time to get shot down, killing someone in between would be nice, FM2 here I come.

Interviews with real WW2 pilots revealed that rear view mirrors are severly overrated.
Multiple monitors? ICK!
I want one of these: http://www.i-glassesstore.com/fligsimbun4.html

Let's get rid of that old response. PCs and video cards these days have WAY more horse power than AH graphics technology needs. There are guys out there cranking 120+ fps.
But that's not really the point either.
You can switch views in AH with the press of a button (or switch or whatever you change views with).
In most cases, WWII fighters had mirrors that were mounted ABOVE the front canopy frame rail. The majority of AH planes are probably flown with the forward view set so you do not even see the top canopy frame. Because of this, you would need to change your view to see the mirror (look up and forward). Therefore, if you need to change your view, just look backwards.
