I ran the dxdiag on my comp and I use xp....directx 8.1 (4.08.01.0810) ....ok, tested directx 3d , but it said , this test will use hardware accerated directx 7 interfaces. Then when I ran it, in thew notes it states: direct 3d test results failure  at step 8 . (creating 3d device) HRESULT = 0x887602eb (error code)   Doesn't look good whatever it means...any help would be appreciated!! PAK

Re-instal DirectX 8.1.

If that doesn't fix it publish what video adaptor  you have, and what driver version is being used with it.
