First
Sony VIAO 1.7 w/512mb DDR  
80g HD
OS  Win XP Home
Hercules 4500 64mb SDR Video, PowerVR Kyro
Driver 1.5.15.84  5/2/2002

HP 17" Monitor, 75mhz refresh rate
Desktop setting is 1024x 758

Now the question
I am running AH at 1024 x 768, getting about 70 FPS,  everything works fine.  But.....
I want to run at AH 1280 x 1024 so it will look better,
I change the AH video settings to 1280x1024 and it looks great but frame rates drop to 30 or less and few minutes later AH locks up and I have to power off my system.  
Then system will not reboot, locks up when XP starts to load.  It does this several times until finally I can get in.  Reset the AH video back to 1024 x 768 and everything is fine.
I tried updating the video drivers in August but then system kept locking up regardless of video settings so I rolled the driver back to the previous driver and left it alone.

I play RTCW and MOH at 1280 x 1024 no problem.

Either its the driver, the card is physically hosed, or maybe a compatibility issue with XP.

Does anybody have any suggests?  If its a driver change what do you recommend.

Try setting your desktop resolution to the resolution you want for AH.

ie. both 1280X1024
