Title: Rubber Bullets : Myth or reality?
Post by: Blank on December 06, 2002, 09:29:55 PM
seems lately that I have a night with rubber bullets -tonight being one of them.

tonight I was lucky enoughto find myself in the right place at the right time three times to intercept large B-17 formations (15 plus aircaft)

I was flying 109 G-10 with 30mm, I set the convergence so that all cannons (20mm gondolas and 30mm) hit centre of target at d300

each time i used all ammo on multiple strafing runs on the formations to get a total of 5 kills and around 15 assists.

the wierd thing is I never even popped a B-17, I only received kills after someone else finished them hence loads of assists.

It feels like most my rounds are not registering even though i see loads of hit sprites.

The last formation was a joke, I waited until he was in bombing site and got in real close D200- d300 and put all my ammo in him, and not one b-17 exploded i just got a little bit of smoke.

So I was just wondering does this happen to other people or am I just imagining this, kind of like blaming my tools for being lame? :)

never take 30 and 20 mm gondolas the 30mm have different ballistics. 3 x 20 is deadly as ah heck anyway.

Rudder bullets happen when fly 109 i take just 20mm or just 30mm rarely do i take gondolas.

What you might seen are multiple 20mm hits and no 30mm hits.

Also if you take just 30mm never fire "all" guns. Fire mgs and 30mm seperate.

I shot a temp 1 time with 4 30mm my squaddie ag saw it. I only fire 30mm alone and 12 shots I saw 4 hits but the guy kept flying.

I finished him with a quick byrst of 13mm though.
