Worst Bond song ever..
One of the best bond girls ever..
Maybe the worst bond movie ever..
Maybe they should stop trying to pump them out so fast..this one needed to bake a lot longer.
-
Havent seen it yet... aye the song is rediculous - just trying to appeal to pop culture... but no way the movie can be worse that anything Timmy Dalton did...
-
It is. The Dalton Bonds were kinda off as he didnt come across well as the very glamourous Bond "type". However this new movie is just plain unbelivable and retarded.
The villan creates a giant multi billion dollar diamond empire, a huge ice palace, and an enormous space based laser system immune to anti-satelite missles and his master plan for the weapon is to...... Use it to destroy the US Army landmines on the Korean DMZ... But this superpower laser cant even shoot down an airplane...
Not to mention the villians are all twenty something rice rocket jockey hip-hop types, so I assume the next Bond will have a Brittany Spears song and the villans will be some teen boy band guys - this was just a toejamty movie targeted at teenagers.
And I dont even want to get started with the worst special effects shot in any big budget movie of the past ten years - cheezy.
And then there is the aiplane shot at the end.
Awful Awful Awful. This movie is so gimmicky and stupid and ridiculous it should have never been released.
AWFUL!

I thought it was the best bond movie since the last three were made.
The song sucks though.
-
The movie would have been just as good if they Hally out of the movie after Bond was done banging her.
Agree with Animal, best Bond since Goldeneye, crappy as song as well.
Also best bad guy since Alex Trevekian. And I'm glad they did't make Cleese act like an idiot. I'm glad they let Judi Dench toughen up M a bit, still has a ways to go though. What they made her do in the last one almost had me in tears.
And what the hell is with this good girl sidekicks toejam any way. Women in Bond films are ment to be screwed then used as human shields.
-
they got a little carried away with using todays technology for movies.
i mean i know it's fantasy n schtuff, but there is such a thing as too much for a bond flick.
i still liked it, but i like most all bond films.
-
I liked this movie. I thought that the 1st 1/3 of Die Another Day was some of the best Bond around. I even like the song.
Bond movies are different things to different people. For example, I thought the last film was much worse than this one. I also thought "The Living Daylights" was an ok Bond Movie. Granted, Licensed to kill was awful. As far as cranking them out goes, the standard used to be 2 years, they took an extra year to do this one.
******************SPOILERS**************************
I thought the inviso-car and holodeck were lame

I actually found "The Living Daylights" to be one of the better bond films (ending was a bit silly, but that's actually been a staple of many other Bond films, especially the Roger Moore era). I had no problems with Dalton as bond. "License to Kill" was so bad that I think I only watched it straight through once... and wished I hadn't. But I didn't blame Dalton... just plain bad script, poor direction, etc.
I thought "Die Another Day" was one of the best: lots of the traditional elements were brought back yet managed to do some great new things too.
I loved "For Your Eyes Only", that is my favorite Roger Moore film.
-
Living daylights has probably the best Bond song.
Dalton was a good bond - brought a much harder edge to the role after Moore.
-
I usually go see the new Bond movies. Decided not to see this one due to the lead woman actor. She make me want to vomit!!
-
I thought Die Another Day was best Bond film since Goldeneye. However there were many parts which were simply ridiculous!
SPOILER
The opening scene where it shows them surf boarding into N. Korea was just pathetic. The same goes for 007 using the airbrake and drag chute to escape the rocket ski-car is the same. As for the invisible Aston Martin 'Vanish'! lol!
I didn't like the song either. Best song for me has to be 'The Spy Who Loved Me', or 'You Only Live Twice'.
I still think George Lazenby was very underated. 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' had everything. Good script, lots of action, tough image, sensitive side, and even two songs! :)

"Live and Let Die" was the best bond song, IMO.
But Bond films suck in general.
-
I thought it was a good bond flick. got just what I paid for.
Ya some of the things where kinda lame (taking forever for the laser to kill the plane but it melts huge amounts of ice on contact, ibeing just one) but have you ever seen a bond flick before?
it's not a clancy techno thriller. it's a damn bond flick- cool gadgets, weird villans with outragouse plots to control the world, smart assed one liners, and fine women with nice racks.
looks like it covered all the bases for me. if you want believable or reality, you where in the wrong theater.

Huh? She is SUPER hot, even if you dont find her attractive I dont see her as a reason to miss it.
Vomit? Oh well everyone has different tastes I guess but that is a little extreme.
-
oh you guys, shucks!
-
bond: "do you expect me to talk?"
bad guy : "no mr bond, i expect you to die"
-
goldeneye is my fav
-
I thought the car chase was pretty cool.
Who cares if it is plausible or realistic? Come on, it is James Bond we are talking about. This isn't Saving Private Ryan or Band of Brothers. It is straight out action/fantasy/comedy/adventure all rolled into one.
Is it my fav Bond flick? No, that would be Dr. No, followed by Thunderball, For Your Eyes Only, and The World is Not Enough. It is good, not great. I enjoyed it very much.
I like Brosnan as Bond, though he seems to run kind of weird. He is, IMO, a mix of Connery and Moore. Though it is a little more Moore than anyone else.
I would like to see the revival of SPECTRE as a Bond foe though. Maybe revive Blofeld or something. Could be kind of cool.
Oh well, I will sit back, pop in a 007 dvd, enjoy the fantasy, and relax. That is the purpose of most movies.

liked the movie. sick of the new bond girl

You guys take movies far too seriously, Bond movies are meant to be unbelievable that is the fun of it. I don't read into the plot, I am just there to be taken away for a couple of hours.
The chic with the sword was HOT
There are only 3 movies in my life that I thought were aweful. And the only 3 I walked out on.
Shocker
Cool World
3D Jaws

As a BD-5 guy, I'm a little fond of Octopopsicle...course I only watch the first 10 mins of the movie (which has the BD-5 Jet) and then put it away. Enjoy hearing from the pilot of the BD-5 tell how they did all the various visuals and stuff in the movie...like dragging a smoke bomb/rocket model with a wire to similulate a missile homing in on him :)
He said they were going to have a lot more aircraft in this Bond movie, but the 9/11 restrictions on various aircraft made that impossible.
If you have an eagle eye, you'll notice a BD-5 in the background of one of the scenes of Die Another Day

Some of you bananas had me thinking twice about seeing this one in the theater. Well, today I headed off to see the early showing of LOTR: Two Towers so as to beat the crowds, only to find out that the geeks were out in full force. We decided to see Bond instead.
It was a great Bond flick. Had all the necessary bond elements, John Cleese was great, and despite my reservations even Barry did a good job in it. It's a Bond movie for cripes sake...check yer brain at the door and enjoy! :)
