Title: Skuzzy ????
Post by: fffreeze220 on December 09, 2002, 03:34:40 AM
I am using 2 Network cards in my PC.
My GF laptop is connected to my PC with a crossover cable to connect to the internet.
Due to that i use 1 older Realtek 8029(AS) 10Mbit Ethernet card (for Intenet DSL)
and a 8139 Ethernet card for my home LAN.
I just read ur sticky thread about connectivity.
Do u recommend to use a different network card for my internet connect ?
I mean that old 10 Mbit card is about 5 years or so. It works fine so far without any bigger problems but i encountered some freezes in the last days and i checke dall the other stuff u recommended to check if some 1 having screen freezes.

Laptop Ethernet cards are all pretty slow, in comparison to thier PC counterparts.  The primary concern with laptops is power consumption, as such, they throw a lot of the hardware out the window to keep the required power low.
In doing this, they also sacrifice performance.  Not much you can do for the laptop.  It is just the nature of the beast.
