Well, I'm new, I know I'm new, and already I noticed the massive swarm that accompanies ANY country even close to a victory. And now I know why, the 25 perk bonus to all three stats when your country wins.
Easy fix.
When you start a new character, you have a choice of the three countries to join. Once you choose, you're in for life.
However, you can switch..... if you lose all of your perks.
Best of both worlds I think here, guys. There will be some honor among the pilots towards their countries. There won't be a giant gangbang at the end of every map. And.... rewards stay where they belong. With the true victors.

sorry, the problem is an inbalance in number. Not switching sides. This will discourage switching sides to balance the number.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you must be a member of the country for at least 24 hours in order to get the perk points from a winning a reset.

That might be right...
But i think its actually 12 hours, but im not sure.

yes, it takes 12 hours to be eligible for reset perkies.
...but if your team is going to be reset soon and your team is way down on numbers, you could switch to the team that is winning and take a 190a5 to the gangbang and easily bring home 15+ perks a sorty.
My opine:
When a team is down to 3 or so fields only allow side switching to losing team.
This way you can help them, but you can't jump ship and hurt them.
