Title: Quit picking on Shane!
Post by: culero on December 10, 2002, 02:07:39 PM: I wish all ya'll would quit picking on Shane. Didn't your fathers teach you better than to pick on girls? Yeah!

Just FYI, Shane in real life is a girl. She's always tried to hide that fact because she doesn't want people cutting her slack because of her sex. She's just always wanted to be accepted as one of the pilots.

Personally, I'm tired of seeing her picked on so mercilessly all the time. I wish ya'll would just lay off. Imagine its your little sister or something, and give her a break :/

I don't cut any slack to any pilot. Sex is not an issue. One thing I do appreciate about most of the female pilots that I am aware of is the lack of a need to constantly explain why they were shot down:) (unlike most of their male counterparts). Testosterone is good , it grows hair on your chest, but there seems to be too much of it exposed on channel 1 :).

There is a difference between ocassional stupidity and downright nastiness.

Never had a problem with Shane, and I find the way people react to Shane quite amusing sometimes.

Emerald OTH :rolleyes: - it still pains me to think how many times I bit when trashmouthed by "her". (I don't think her is a valid pronoun for a shrieking banshee from the 7th hell)

Wildthing, I'm with ya on this one (hate to say it though) but I think the flames are more because Shane speaks up AND get's kills, two deadly sins in here...

Actually, Shane was very helpful to me when I first started playing AH (as GT3man) And even though he has shot me down repeatedly since then, I personally hold no hatred or even dislike for him. and trust me, he has shot me down quite often, all without being mean or obnoxiious about it.

Being a smart a** (as some have said of him) is not quite the same as being a jerk. :)
