Is that one of the love muffines who joined the "William Tell Society" and let others shoot arrows at them?
-
The guy's as big as a moose..No wonder.
-
What a wuss! A real man would have ripped the arrow out and gone to the pub.
-
There are more Photos to this man's predicament.
I've seen them b4.
They actually had to cut away a section of his skull to get the arrow tip out.
one of the pictures is a closeup of the round skull peice with the arrow tip stuck thru it, one mean looking arrow tip.

did the guy live?
rotton.com has some pretty sick stuff, not for faint hearted.
-
Is that a real picture?
A guy in my Boy Scout troop (with no gay scout master) was shot years ago by a hunter with a diddlying shot gun... on a scout reservation no less... he thought Ed was a turkey...
He didnt die, but his face was mighty messed up from the scarring.
-
Yeah, it's real. And a couple years old too (as Kanth noticed).
-
I don't know about other states, but in California bowhunters are not required to wear orange.
It makes sense actually... the range is so short that if you can't tell the difference between a person and a deer, you obviously do not have a shot.
-
As far as I know he did.

I have my doubts about the orange wear. I'm begining to suspect that alot of hunting 'accidents' are either thrill-kills or "dave seems oftly freindly with my wife. maybe I should take him hunting"
I haven't gone in a few years because of the increasing number of morons in the woods. we don't require the orange here AFAIK (I've never wore it) but I am thinking kevlar for my next hunting trip.
-
thank goodness it didn't hit anything :)
yes its real, the first time I saw it it had close ups of the arrowhead after it was removed
-
Wearing orange sort of defeats the purpose of all that cammo gear you hunting types wear IMHO. I understand why you guys do it...to avoid accidents, but why bother with cammo underneath? But, I suppose you gotta wear something, and the cammo gear looks all cool when at the lodge quaffing budweisers.
-
deer are color-blind (I've been told) and can't tell the orange from any other light color. suposedly a camo patern of light and dark on orange background works just as good as the real camo colors. I still have my doubts about the acuracy of this though.
-
I've never mistaken a man for a deer in the woods. The human silhouette is a vertical line...a deer's silhouette is horizontal. When in doubt...you wait. It should be a federal crime to be an idiot.

Thats basicly it as far as im concerned. Deer see movement more than anything else. For bowhunting its more important not to move any more than necessary and wear something quite, thats not going to make a lot of noise when you do move. I have friends and relatives that spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on this new pattern, that new scent, this new call and sit in the woods smoking cigeretts and farting due to the beer and chilli from the night before, and wonder why they dont shoot anyting. My green workpants, sweaters and I manage to fill my tag every year though :)
If I was this guy though, I dont think I would be hunting with those tards again.

I know someone who was while he was turking hunting as well. he also lived. It careless hunters who cause ACCIDENTS.

who was shot while turkey hunting
-
I think this was more of a case of vodka and orange.

peacefulwarrior,
Yeah...that was me. Although the story you read was somewhat baudlerized, it actually happened. It's an easy mistake to make when they are as limber as a dishrag when you pick them up.
Dang! But that hurt!
