"Large bore" referring to the size of the cannon... probably the 75mm in panzers, etc.

so does that mean the panzer's AP rounds will be even weaker against m3s/m16s?

U got bore and smooth bore.

With a bore gun the bullet or cannon round leaves the barrel turning radial on the axis this helps stabilize the round.

With smooth bore the projectile needs other way off stabilizing for example fins would be added.

smoothbore guns can get higher velocity because the projectile doesn't have to follow the curling patern within the barrell.

Yes, now large-bore cannons will be totally inneffective against non-armored targets.:p

Actually, it sounds like the lethality is being increased so that the large cannons are more effective against non-armored targets.  Why else would an adjustment be needed?

"Bore" actually refers to the process of drilling/boring the barrel. Just like the bore of the cylinders in your car.

That's only one description, YEAGER is correct, "bore" in this context refers to diameter.

It's also a relative term. A 410 shotgun is "small bore" while a  ten guage shotgun is "big bore" as in "big bore" game hunting.

Then there's other descriptions which refer to bore as in "smooth bore", meaning without rifling.
