Title: Is the BBS a worthy substitute...
Post by: Blue Mako on December 12, 2002, 11:36:35 PM
...for playing AH?  I ask because I seem to spend a lot of time browsing these boards instead of doing the work I'm paid for.  Anyone else?

P.S. Trying to bump up my number of posts as I'm approaching 1000. :)

Hey Funkedup,
I flew AC130H's for 7.5 years from 91 to 98.  Just noticed your signature block!

When I am at work, I am expected to work!  I do have internet access (only one in our office!) but any use is apparently monitored now, so I daren't take too many liberties!  I can only access these forums using the DNS number - the hitechcreations address is blocked due to a websense catergory of "entertainment".   Even then, the connection is so S-L-O-W at work it's a major operation trying to read one thread!  The only reason I am posting now is I am home for lunch..... going back to work in a few mins....  :(

It is good to practice both styles of combat :)

Ya young whippersnappers!  Worked with Spectres before they even had a name. Hurlburt Field TDY in '68.  Got to watch up close and personal over Laos, '69.  Neat stuff, but I preferred Commando Vault overall.  BIG BOOM !!!

Guttboy.  There is a guy over in WarBirds who is in the same line of work.  He goes by "Ammo".  His squadron's name is Spectre and you can guess what their motto is.  :)

Once you pass 50,000 it rolls over, kinda like an odometer.

hehehe Some good replies.  I exaggerated a bit, I usually only check the boards first thing at work (morning routine) and then at lunch...  If it's really slow I'll check 'em occasionally during the day but we have monitored internet use here too...

Forget the monitoring, what about your own personal work ethic?

Doing the right thing because you know you are being watched is expected, doing it because you know you should, regardless,  shows good moral character, IMHO.

Surfing the boards sure gets to be a habit.  Get to the know the people, not just the vehicle that just creamed you.

The board is another huge plus for the Aces High staff.  Few companies are anywhere near as responsive or as open to ideas and even criticism.
