I cant believe so many people miss it so much.
I am gonna give you a clue: There is another F4U in Aces High
I even prefer it. Has exact same maneuverability, more rockets, and plenty of ammo. You can always get more perk points flying it than you ever did with the F4U-C
Oh, you dont like .50? hehe, then go fly a Typhoon. It is even better than the F4, only has less ammo.
As for me, I feel completly indiferent about the chog perk issue, I didnt fly it, it sucked in the first place.
But its upsetting to see many whines about "not being able to fly the F4U anymore"

Take anyone's favorite ride and perk it... just see how much whining takes place.
Take the most used aircraft in AH and perk it.. there is going to be a proportionate ammount.
Kinda hoping the "closing my account" and "if you can't handle it then leave" banter doesn't start up as a result.

Yeap Deja, I understand where you are coming from.
But is there such a huge difference between those planes? or is it that people really flew 4x20mm instead of the F4U?
I still see an F4U in that hangar. Its even prettier. And just as deadly in the hands of a good pilot.

funny thing is, the poeple who couldnt handle it, got the chog perked., niki is next, then spit, probably p51.

N1k is the only other cheap perk on my list. all other planes have their weaknesses fairly balanced. heck even la7 (crappy gun ballistics) is ok when compared to chog or n1k .
all I can say is <S> HTC, the horde may finally end.

The F4u-1C offered better snapshot opportunities. That's about it.
Those that flew both know there isn't much of a difference. The people citing the biggest difference fly neither.

D9 will be on that list, maybe the A5 too, G10 and LA7.

if they made the p-38L so uber it had to be perked I would fly the P-38F or P-38J until i aquired enough points to fly the p-38L.

Everyone, let me remind, that it was not removed from the game. It is a very cheap perk. With my perk points, for example, I can fly it for the whole next tour. I need 2 my average sorties in yak to get 1 ride in hogc. It seems fair and ok for me. It is IMO, do not want to affend hogc zealots.
I think, though, that 5 or 6 perks for it would be better. I saw very few of them in arena -- seems 8 keep people from flying em to strongly.

Those who whine, cry and moan because their turbolaser bird has been perked, they whine, cry and moan because they lack the skill to fly anything else effectively. ANd because they know the golden time of the endless HO-turn-HO-turn is gone unless they "pay" for it, and the one-ping snapshot BS kills now costs 8 perkies. Nothing else. Now they will have two choices:
1-do SOME ACM in other plane to get kills
2-risk the loss of 8 perkies with each dweeby HO in their loved Chogs.
This measure only can benefit AH (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif). Less turbolasers flying, and less damned KILL STEALERS (BTW I could say that 85% of the kills I've been stealed in AH were by a N1K2 or a Chog...strange, right? (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif))
BTW I love the Dhog, is one of my favorite planes on the current planeset. I dont fly it anymore because the squad I'm in. The plane needs ACM to be effective, but its a WONDERFUL (free) ride.
Time to use it, guys.

Dowding, our actual arena haven't hi bomber formations to deffend or intercept. Mainly, all we have is up to 10k combat, and this is the reign of La7. No other plane can climb, accelerate or run like this bird, and it is an excelent turner with much better weapon set than D9. I dont think D9 and La7 are comparable.
I recomend you to fly D9 and then compare its performance with your La7 main ride.

All this moaning is to be expected.The decision to perk the F4Uc was a brave move by HTC and i applaud them.
I flew a sortie in a 190a8 yesterday and scored 10.25 perks which i think is probably amongst the highest ive scored in a 190a8 in a single sortie.I took off with 500kg 100% and as i took off a lovely FP appeared (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
killed it with the egg rearmed/refueled and went on a jabo.killed a few planes(3?) straffed a couple of ammo bunkers and flew back.
This may not be what i get every sortie but 1-3 perks is about normal.so 2 sorties will get me an f4uc if i desired to fly it (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/tongue.gif).I think in order to avoid more bad feeling about what planes are perked HTC should make it very clear why a plane is perked,why they feel this will help and maybe what made them decide 7 perks was about right.
I think the F4c will come DOWN is perk price myself.Those that love it will fly it but many newbies will try other planes now.The usage will drop dramatically.The price will drop i hope until HTC will see numbers more closely related with the other aircraft.
I'd bet it will end up costing 4-5 perks and as numbers increase on other aircraft they will also be considered for perking but i bet it will be quite a slow process.
If everyone continuously complains we all become miserable.
Id say it may well be a tactfull move to perk the dora for a tour HTC.Most of the LW flyers have 2 or 3 favourites in your list and we have flown 14 tours without the dora, im sure 1 more wont hurt.I dont feel the dora deserves to be perked but it would sure quiet down the endless 'this is a personal attack on me and my favourite ride' brigade! LW squads and pilots.Perk the dora to keep them quiet? I say do it.Im fed up with listening to all this crap about offending 'those that flew her' and 'whiners get their way' etc.
