It's a horrible horrible plane. It maneuvers like crap, especially at high speeds, has a PUNY gun loadout and is slower than a zeke. If you want kills in the MA DON'T FLY THIS PLANE. I took it up a few times AND I CAN'T LAND A SINGLE KILL IN THIS POS!!! If you're new just stay away, you can't learn anything by flying this Italian piece of crap. They should've stuck with making cheese anyway. And if you have flown it, you know what I'm talking about. CRAP!!! DON'T FLY IT.....EVER !!!

Well, it does fit my new italian shoes... does that count ? :)

Well, yes, I guess you can fly it as a fashion accessory.
-
Maybe its not the plane...but the ONE flyin that sucks:eek:
-
Hehe Actually Fancy, it's a pretty good plane, just keep it fast and high. Ask our local Boyz (Nibbio, Rapace, Ariete, etc...) they seem to do quite well in it.
(All I want from HTC is a black plane to match my new hat! :D)

Oops, forgot to turn the [irony] light on. (I was joking guys, check my stats.)
-
ok, you caught me on a friday evening, not fair
-
And if you have flown it, you know what I'm talking about.

There was a thread a long time ago about underrated planes. The C.205 was mentioned more than any other.
-
202 rather!!
-
There is one guy from VMF 101 Nightmares Sqd that is really great in c205...Think it's the FlyingDuchman but not positive..Ask him why he is so good in it Fancy.

You got that right! I don't like my planes to have super-cool camo paint jobs, or powerplants that run as smooth as a Ferrari, or handling like a LeMans racer, or climbing like an Alpine goat. Why, its almost as bad as the FM2 or the FW190a8!

I wouldn't doubt it - both handle about the same, except the 205 is a bit better higher up. Guns seem about the same, too. But with the 205 you actually have a chance of sneaking away out of a fight, instead of flying around in that garish silver and red paint job on the Tony.
-
205 has no range... none
you takeoff you climb to 14k you get a kill and have to rtb for fuel or stay and run out.
other than that its nice

The Tony doesn't roll nearly as well as the 205, but turns a bit better IMO. Overall slower and worse handling at high speeds. Also, the ROF on the 20mm cannons is nice, but you'll find yourself empty quite quickly, so if your gunnery is average or poor, better leave it in the hangar.
Fester: C.205 endurance is 28 minutes in the MA. If you can only land 1 kill in 28 minutes of flying then endurance is the least of your problems.

Yep, its definately my go-to plane. Hmmmm, if only we had a nice Italian bomber to go with it...
-
??
guys have landed +-10 kills in c.202s now and again.
You're not supposed to fight with the plane you pilot.
-
Moot, is a killing Machine in the 202, if ever somebody neaded perking it was moot in the 202.:)
-
The C.205 used to have no range, but it definitely does now. You have the AUX tank, the MAIN tank, and the wing tanks. Are the wing tanks new? If they're not new, then ignore what I just said, but I used to think the exact same thing Fester. It took me messing around with the fuel selection to find the wing tanks (because I always used to RTB when the main got low).

:)

the point is kill tally shows how much you want it, and in the case of machis it's not so important because they are easy to win kills with if you put yourself to it.
-
Beeker- The wing tanks aren't new but they definitely dry up the fastest. And the auto-select drains them last, so when the Main tank's low it's a good idea to head home. :)
I used to fly the 205 a lot because it's a very capable plane that'll earn you some nice perkies. It is nice on the pizza map with the hi-alt fields for short interception flights (not to mention the desert camo).

Does anyone have a graphic of a little animated squirming trout or something? Not only would it be great for this thread, but I'd like to keep it around just in case.....
Please post one if ya got it!
:D

Citabria,
I was used to take off with 100%, get to 18-20K, make a couple sector patrol, get 1-3 kills and then come back with 25% fuel. You allied pilots should learn how to use fuel. You are too used to have tons of fuel, internal and/or external ;)
