Title: Why the 2k winds?
Post by: Furzy on December 14, 2002, 04:00:46 PM
Im not sure but it seems all CT setups have a NW wind of 14kts at 2000ft.

Why??.
I myself can usually calibrate perfectly from any direction in a wind but many cant, even then I find it a pain in the ass.

Is it there to deter Bombers? 2k winds create better fights?. Give me a good reason please.

I forward the motion that it should be set 14K like MA or mabye none at all. Why deter people from CT as it is now when it needs numbers.

Noone thinks winds at 2000 ft is a bit drastic?. Ive followed CT fairly faithfully excepting the last 2-3 tours. Usually its a great balance of fighters but just lately Ive become fond of buff's.

Now I find Buffs Fairly difficult in CT, I hit Allmost all the time... But Im a Grade A Bomber ametuers wouldnt have a chance above 5k.

Obviously Im not worried about my own wellbeing in CT as a Buff chk stats. Get rid of that crazy windlayer for CT's sake.

i agree the wind at 2k can ruin some good low fights...

besides, the wind modeling is a little on the gamey-side...

maybe put it at 10-12k... i dunno... i'd be happy if it were removed altogether.
