I agree. I was sitting outside last Saturday - a bright sunny day - and looked up at the sun. I came to two conclusions:
1. The sun is very bright
2. It hurts to look at it (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Not only can you not look directly at the sun, but I was trying to imagine spotting an aircraft diving from its near vicinity.
Take a look at this image (http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/phoenix/images/ahss21.jpg)
Both suns are the same size. The small circle represents the current 'invisible icon' area. The larger circle represents the area in which I would estimate the icon 'should' be invisible.
Just a thought (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Does the country/range icon disappear when a plane goes through the sun in the MA? I know it doesn't in the TA, but I can't recall seeing it happen in the MA or not. If the plane disappears, but the icon stays, what good is the sun anyways since you still know exactly where the con is?

I don't suppose any of you guys have bothered to take a set of aviator goggles and look at the sun?
Until then......
