DNC has decades of experience in controlling US media.  The DoD should hire those guys to manipulate the foreign press.  They will need something to do for the next 6 years anyways.

Funked GOP is much more effective at ruling the press.  After all, why does everyone believe the media is "controlled by the liberals?"
The trick to a successful propaganda campaign is to make the recipient believe the information is unbiased, or better yet, coming from the "other guy".  Al-Jazzeer and the daily worker are much more effective at spreading US propaganda to those hostile to this country than Fox News can ever hope to be.

Great.. I've got a catchphrase for these adverts...

WAR IS PEACE, FREEDOM IS SLAVERY, IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH

Will the papers print them in a slightly different typeface, as those paid adverts that try to pass as regular news contents but have a tiny "advertising" written in one corner?

:D

Dunno if European press can be bought that easily.

Lotta socialists who sort of dislike the US here :/

Digusting that the US tries to interfere with the 'free' press in another democratic country though. This is probalby a demonstration of why the US isn't universally loved.

I agree, freedom of the press should not be intruded upon, but in the same breath, the press never reports the whole story...only the sensationalistic.

Personally, I blame the press for the image that the US carries across the world. Seems like we've had this basic discussion before so I won't go into it now.

If the press can be bought by the US, that is not an indictment of the US , but an indictment of the press IMO.

Great as a free press is, and it is great, some of the individuals involved seem to think it is a licence to sell favours.

Journalists, Lawyers and Politicians all languish at the bottom of public respect for profession tables in the UK. Unsurprising when they all take money to tell a story and present it as the truth. Often it will only be part of the truth.

Yeah, bounder it's not the US's fault if the US tries to use their military to buy off foreign press.

And it's not Saddam's fault that the Kurds happened to be in way of the gas he used on them.
