I have downloaded directX8.1 and it sorted it ... try it

I have DirectX 8.1, I do remember one of the earlier versions I had to reinstall DX8.1 every time I played Aces High, which was fixed in a later version, maybe the problem is back?
I'm using Sound Blaster Live sound card I *ThINK*

I had this problem after the update in 98 SE. It was solved by installing DirectX 8.1

Always get the latest drivers for your sound card (or codec if running a built-in sound chip on the MB), and then ALWAYS run the DirectX 8.1 install again for it to check the hardware and their software drivers with directX.
To test use the RUN box on your start menu, and type "dxdiag" in there and press return, and run all the D3D video and sound tests to see all works and passes the tests. If there is a problem it should find it.

Well I sort of fixed it, it has same bug as an earlier version, I have to reinstall DX8.1 EVERY time I want to play AH if I've rebooted since I last played it!
I had same problem in an earlier version but seemed to have been fixed in 1 of the updates, ne way maybe patch1 fixed it by "accident" cuz it seems htc was never aware of the problem..
