Title: Editor Problem
Post by: SMP on December 17, 2002, 05:44:28 PM
I just downloaded the editor and everytime i try doing anything i get this message:

"This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor"

I pasted this from the detail:

HEDIT caused an invalid page fault in
module AHEDIT.EXE at 0167:00438186.

I tried reinstalling it and still have the same problem.

Also, once we get this problem figured out i would like to make a map featuring part of the rumble map.. How would i go about getting the file? Basically, I want to take one of the sections and make it an island..

This needs to be done when you first install the TE ( Terrain Editor ) on your computer!!!

When you first start up the TE you need to first goto
File
New
Then enter a name of a terrain you want to build.

Then I would exit the TE, say yes to the pop up box.

Then restart the TE goto to File and Open your new terrain.

Now you should be ok to do stuff.

i'd also create a settings folder in the editor root directory, this will allow the editor to create a curterr.cfg so you don't have to open a terrain every time you restart it

This is a fine example of the type of insight that should be shared.

Sorry didn't add that line but I had posted it about 2 months ago.

Hope they add that line back into the new "or" updated TE
