Title: IS my memory bad or Motherboard ? This ones got me puzzled.
Post by: SunKing on December 18, 2002, 01:52:57 PM
Just in time for the new release my pc crashes.

Last night I'd load any game and it would jsut reboot the pc 10 secs in. Came up with some dirver errors. Decided to reformat and reload winxp corp ed.

I attempt to boot from cd.. it gets to the part where it asks me to format drive.. I do and I get this lovely error msg..

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL  Stop: 0x0000000A

SO I go to the Micorsoft Database and look it up.. Tells me there is an irq error or memory is bad...

Removed all devies but video card/cdrom

Swapped both dimms ,tired each one alone...still get the same error msg everytime.. Updated bios ...get same msg..

In bios I decide to turn off anything to do with cache memory and video shadowing... pc runs superslow but gets past the crashing and formats drive...

Now... what is wrong.. Motherboard or Ram?

Can both dimms go bad at the sametime?

Is there a dos utility I can throw on a floppy and test the ddr ram?

Try turning off AGP 4x. My Gf 4200 caused real problems with this setting.
