Yeah, one of my squaddies was at that base when that took place and he was on squad channel saying "what the fek?"  Dont remember who it was though.  He said there were about 6 or 7 C-47's inbound.

I believe the music is you mention is from the opera "Der Ring des Nibelungen" / part 2 "Die Walküre". It was written by Richard Wilhelm Wagner. Its the intro music from act III "Die Walküre".
