Thrawn End it all is a great freeware program from PC magazine that allows to you to close all the background programs running on your PC. Believe me there's a lot running that you don't know about.
Fully configurable, if you make a mistake and close the wrong program, no problem. You end up with a script of programs to be closed anytime you defrag or play online. Very helpful with defrag because all those scanner, printer, photo programs are shut down making it a much faster process.
With WB you have to be lean and mean running the program. A necessity with WB. I just got into the habit of using it before I fly.
http://www.pcmedixwebs.com/enditall.htm
If I turn on my toybox, go online to fly this is how many programs are running in my computer. All those not protected are shutdown using the program. One program will not close so I kill it. I shut norton down seperately. Experiment and get the minimum needed to fly.
Another good freeware program is RegCleaner. Program to examine and tweak your startup registry and your program files. Great for discovering hidden programs that slip into your computer from the web. Hotmail was supplying my computer with Porn site pages :) You'll find some strange things getting in unnoticed.
You'll also be able to delete those programs that you "thought" you had deleted using there supplied "uninstall" feature. Oh they really took it all out.....NOT
http://www.vtoy.fi/jv16/shtml/software.shtml
Another good program for getting the most out of the Toybox is Tweak-Me. You pretty much run it once. I got a free trial, set it up and have 40 more times to use it before I buy :D Try a search, this is the "buy" site.

Actually, unlike Ripsnort and several others around here, I don't feel compelled to post every 2 minutes. Thus, I have only posted a lowly 840 some-odd times.
Here are a couple of my other fav backgrounds:

And this one, pretty much the same as above, but a little different

The fact that Kieren looks like Christopher Lowell is one thing, the fact that you were the only person that seemed to notice is another.
I no longer wonder about you SOB. I know.

"I no longer wonder about you SOB. I know."
As if the folder on SOB's desktop called "Meaty Films" wasn't a dead giveaway.

Love F-4s and miss seeing them flying overhead dearly. It was a privilege to seem them as Thunderbirds in the early 70's.

Holy crap! I do look like Christopher Lowell! It's enough to make me shave right now!

Saw you have become a true sput dweeb.... I'll have you know that evil sput is only milliseconds away from being shot down by the superior Bf109 pilot. :D
-
Hmmm, that late-war, griffon powered, clipped wing version Spit on the six of a 109F is in trouble? ;)
-
Aw, you can't tell on a still picture, maybe the 109pilot is forcing an overshoot and the Spit pilit is falling for it (if that's me flying it ;))
Just trying to fight the burnout Grun, I'll be away for a few months soon... taking every second of AH I can before I move :)

I prefer the looks of the A8 but that skinny little nosed dora is very nice. :)

Swoopy, if that Kazaa is full version, then it has installed some spyware in your computer. Kazaa Lite is kazaa without spyware.
-
spyware??
-
If you accept the terms of installation of Kazaa, then you accept the "spyware" software too. I don't know how harmful it is, but here's little more info:
"KaZaA's spyware: "A California company has quietly attached its software to millions of downloads of the popular Kazaa file-trading program and plans to remotely "turn on" people's PCs, welding them into a new network of its own.
Brilliant Digital Entertainment, a California-based digital advertising technology company, has been distributing its 3D ad technology along with the Kazaa software since late last fall. But in a federal securities filing Monday, the company revealed it also has been installing more ambitious technology that could turn every computer running Kazaa into a node in a new network controlled by Brilliant Digital."
And more:
Kazaa spyware (http://209.68.48.119/inetexplorer/darnit_2.htm#Kazaa)
You should uninstall it and use KaZaa Lite (http://www.kazaalite.com/) instead (some popups in this site)
-
and more:
"The city of Aspen has made plans to improve it's computer security network after a Canadian (figures) man found his way into the system through a file-sharing program, named Kazaa, last week.
James xxxxx of Toronto, Canada, was searching the Kazaa peer-to-peer file-sharing network for a copy of "Austin Powers in Goldmember" on August 30 when he found himself viewing the entire contents of the city's network hardrives"
be vewy vewy caewful
-
Had no trouble with it, hardly use it any way :)
-
most people have no 'trouble' with it..
Aspen didn't have 'trouble' with it either...
at least not that they knew of.. imagine if the guy that found this wasn't so nice....
-
Swoopy, if I'd you, I'd immediately uninstall it. It has troijan horses (?), which takes connections to different places without you knowing it (if you don't have updated internet security software like Norton Internet Security, that is). Anyway, using Kazaa like p2p softwares, you will get virus, sooner or later.
Using Kazaa Lite about 2 months now, I've already received several viruses / troijan horses that Norton Antivirus has blocked off.
Be extremely careful and get good antivirus software (and internet security), if you don't have ones yet. IMO Norton products are best possible out there.

I have norton so i have nothing to worry about, plus i leave it downloading for days on end and nothing happens

What the heck, here goes - unable to control jpeg compression on this machine, so its much better in person. MiG

I like those last pics staga:D
-
kazaa - & most filesharing software - is a hacker's dream - many people use it for the purpose of reading your email (just hunt for .eml files)...the only really safe way to use that stuff is to uninstall the software when you'e done with & reinstall before the next time you use it

Today, it's this... I use this software to change the wallpaper daily... http://www.wallpaperchanger.de/
