I put a video card in my computer. Its a GeForce4 MX 400 64mb. I believe its a Visiontek Xtasy. (i got it from a friend to try) I saw a framerate increase some from my old Gforce 2 mx 400 but I see some really bad lag in fairly big fights.
I'm wondering if this is video settings , lag from connect , or what.
My specs are....
Intel P3 1ghz
512 sdram
Windows XP
30.82 vid drivers I think (nvidia)
GeForce4 MX440
21" NEC Multisync Monitor
1024 X 768 colors 32 bit
Cable
Should I try to set my connect to something besides autosense on my Netgear card?
I mean it was LAG city at A4 today....I suck already much less have that bad of lag. Thanks for any help

Your new video card is not much more powerful than the geforce 2 you had. They share the same chipset with just a few tweaks for the g4c 4 MX. Not being familiar with AH's setup, did you bump up the graphics when you got the new card?

No Sir...was running at same settings...I have also noticed my pings have gone up as well...they are at abut 100 to 110 now..They were at 40 - 50...When im pretty much in a normal fight...like 6 or 7 in area its fine..but man when there are a bunch its lag city and FPS drops. Also my screen now flickers..not just since this card but as of late...SHould I change monitor settings? I mean Im dumb as a rack at puters so I havent a clue.
Funny thing is I'm a Supervisor of a computer room. Want a mainframe IPL'ed or Server bounced Im your guy...Home pc's? IM STUPID. LOL thanks again

VF Jackal! IPL indeed - Initial Program Load. Not many people know that :) I was a DB2DBA for a number of years and also did a *bit* of SysProg work. :)
I take it you have Direct X 8.1? Makes a big difference over 8.0. Not sure about DX 8.2+ because the latest DX mentioned on Microsoft's website is 8.1. Using the correct version of DX will certainly up your frame rate.
I've got a 1.2GHz Athlon, A7V133 mobo, Elsa Gladiac Ultra vid card - and I get 60-80fps ordinarily, dropping to about 40 when a buggered up airfield comes into view and there are lots of other planes/GVs present. My spec is 1½ years old now, and if I can get this sort of performance, I would have thought you could too.
Anyway, back to mainframes. The most efficient IBM utility ever written was IEFBR14. ;)

Get the lastest mobo drivers. You have no idea the improvement.

hardcase - was that to me or to jackal? I don't know what mobo Jackal has, but... we are talking about the VIA drivers, in the case of the Asus A7Vxxx mobos?

LOL IEFBR14T.....
MVS..JES.....and IBM Mainframe...327 servers...Virtual this..virtual that...Vary commands...SMF..Datasets....D B2...CICS...LMAO...list goes on and on.
Harcase...MOBO? wth is that?
Never mind..I figured it out.:D I'll try the newest nvidia drivers tonight...Theres a new driver for my network card as well Netgear FA311. Maybe that will help also.
