I think it has to be a .jpeg , .gif or .bmp image reduced to a manageable size for download Steve. Then just attach it using the "Attach file" portion below the text area when you reply to a thread. Actuate the "Browse" tab and attach the file that way.
Hope this helps.
Those are some nice cars btw.

One of only 404. 1968 Shelby GT 350 Convertible.

Heres mine the Evo 7 very yummy:D
btw the cobra is half foreign Shelby asked if he could but his V8 in AC cars (of Thames Ditton, England) chassis after they lost the Bristol engines :p
AC Cobra the car that brought in speed limits to the uk:(
-
I'm the victim of doing a frame up restoration of a 67 GTO Convertible....keep in mind, my money did all of the work, not me.
I loved the car, however, next time I buy a muscle car from an idiot like myself...already restored and for about 30% less than what it cost the guy to do the restoration.

Ok, how bout a real car

There are way too many neat cars out there for me to choose just one... I had a '59 vette once that I liked a lot but I would like to someday do one with all modern chassis and drivetrain. A '59 vette that would be a viper or c5 killer. That would be neat. I like my Healey and My Elky.... I would like a cad allard or a 41 willy's coupe "G" machine. Whatever I get... I want it to be better than when it was built... by a long shot. I want to be able to find it in the parking lot and to be able to answer questions about it.

that reminds me.. had a GF with an Austin Healy.. had a small block V8 shoved in it...
too bad the rear end couldn't handle it that well.. but it sure was fun anyway..

love those C2s MajTom, and the early C3s. Hope this works.

wish I'd have known then.. she sold it to her brother on the East coast and I'll prolly never see her again.. her the car....
-
wolf... every car is a comprimise.... I don't like the comprimise the manufacturers build in... I don't like the comprimise you made and you wouldn't like the ones I made.... Like deja said... I'm hung up on two seaters. If i wanted a bunch of extr4a seats I would buy a taxi cab. I think everyone that enjoys cars wants to personalize em.

my dad had a 58 impala when he was young .... hes 54 now so that was a while ago :P ...... he built it but it was basicly stock from what he told me it was a hardtop convertible {the hardtop lifted off and folded into the trunk with a push of a button} he said it was his fav car he ever had and he has had alot he was a mechanic when he was younger right up till a few years ago so it wasnt too hard for him to get a project
-
k "un-custom" it is
-
swoopy... it's still a c5... It handles better than most people can drive. Lingefellter is to be respected as should guys like Saleen and Roush.. they all take standard American cars and double the hp and improve the handling and stopping for very little money... you could buy an example of each for the price of one of your dreamcars and everyone of em would beat your ferrari. You really shouldn't believe all the myths about American cars. That sub 10 sec car stopped better than your ferrari too and.... you don't have to ship some guy from itally over named guido to pull the entire drivetrain in order to change a throwout bearing. But... you brits are used to that... 28 hours for a jag throwout bearing replacement. 2 hrs at "clutch-are-us" for the vette or Mustang.

across the street from me there is a 60's T-bird in a garage my dad was helping the guy restore it its a hard top convertible i think i only saw it once
and last summer my dad completely restored a 60's GT350 or 500 stang ...dont remember... for the guy

Laz - Thing is laz there is no need for a car with that much power in the uk we have lots of corners, and not flat corners either they all have bad cambers. Also so what if it has 700+ brake its all about power to weight ratio for a 1/4 mile. Take the Tiger Z100WR, 0-60 in 2.8 seconds and 0-100 6.3 and it only has 390bhp. A true example of power to weight ratio:)
Goes round corners too:D
-
that would be a nice place to put my extra grand national drivetrain..........:D
-
swoopy... I know a tiny bit about power to weight... I am over 400 hp in my Healey. I live in a country with real roads... I have driven all over England and Scotland and never seen a decent road... beats me why you would even want a car over there. Where I live... ijn order to go anywhere.... you will go around all sorts of corners... a lot of em uphill. come around a sweeper headed uphill and you might appreciate those 725 hp or 500-600 ft lbs of torque. Power to weight on that twin turbo vette is very good as is the blown Mustangs.
The car you show looks like an old allard and it appears to have a V8 in it. No way in hell it will do 0-60 in 2.8 with those tires tho. I can't break 4.2 in my healey with street tires a couple of inches wider than those on that thing. I like that car tho... It suits me. Most people want a little more comfort and some weather sealing... fortunately for you guys... it never rains in england which would explain why you have never built a roadster that could stop even fog from soaking the driver much less a sprinkle or two.... heck... you can't even wash a british roadster without spending a day drying out the interior afterwards.
lazs
-
My favorite:
-
It has twin 1200cc Kawasaki ZX12 engines, no v8 and that 0-60 was done with road legal 225x15" no slicks.
As for no decent roads in the UK there are some excellent country roads.( thats if the rozzers arnt there)
As for no decent roadsters, TVR Tuscan S - superb car same as the new TVR T350. Theres the old E type as well, new lotus elise. There all out there ure not looking hard enough :)
-
for me its this, maybe not a really gorgeous car like the cobra,
but a very fast well handling (and obtainable) car and when the wife says you need a sensible family car you can trade it in and get the sportwagon version instead :D
-
(http://www.raf303.org/funked/wrx.jpg)
-
The old scooby certainly is a great car, shame they had to spoil it with the new one. Since the Evo 7 came out i think i prefer that to the scooby. Went out at the weeked in my cousins evo 7 360bhp :D, i was grinning all night:)
-
My cousin had an Evo as well, well did... then he killed it oops (hes ok though) :D
-
swoopy... 215 tires? not much there.. What will it do in the quarter? You don't seriously think it will outhandle the vette? Well.... maybe on a miniture autocross course... If you want to play that game tho I think funked can confirm... I can show you some go karts that will beat that car on the course I pick. Talk about weight to horsepower... and every bit as weather tight too.
Never seen an E type convertable that didn't leak or one that the top didn't fall apart in a couple of years.
What is an "evo" ? keep hearing about the things from the furriners but never heard of em here.
lazs
-
Just another hopped up econo-box pretending to be a car lazs. ;)
-
No it has 225 by 15's, and yes it will outhandle a vette. It only weighs 660 kg probably the weight of that vettes engine.
It will probaly beat it down the strip as well, 0-60 in 2.8 and 0-100 6.3.
They did an E - type roadster, best one they ever made IMO.
and Evo is the mitsubushi evolution a very nice car. Very fast too.:D
-
but it's so ugly, and without character....
-
Lazs... that tiger has two engines... one driving the front wheels and one driving the rear. That explains how they can get away with smaller tires. Of course, that also opens several cans of worms elsewhere, but it does go down a straight track well.
And off course, its about as big as my left thigh... but oh well.
What I can't quite figure out is how someone would feel that car is any different than owning a motorcycle. It offers no more protection. I think it was invented because putting training wheels on a motorcycle made someone feel silly and they just didn't have enough ballance to operate one without the extra "support".

This is the one I'm after... (Rip, I know I said I was going for it some time ago, but we had to buy a bigger office to accomodate for more employees -yes, things are going well :) - so I'll have to wait a little more)

I strongly doubt a stock Evo (or WRX STi) could beat a Z06 Vette in any category. The Vette is simply lighter and much more aerodynamic, with more power, lower center of gravity, better suspension design (double wishbones), much bigger rubber, and better weight distribution. The only advantage of the Evo is the AWD system, which would probably only be an advantage on gravel or wet asphalt or snow. But on dry pavement I think a Z06 Vette (maybe even a standard Vette) would eat it alive. You can't really compare a purpose built sports/racing car with an econobox modified for racing.
Quick check of magazine test results: Z06 is .5 sec quicker to 60 mph, 2-3 sec quicker to 100 mph and has a 20 mph advantage in top speed.

They're pretty and all... but they should be functional also...

please, please forgive my ignorance. Will someone please post instructions on how to insert a picture? Assume I do not know how to post a pic to a bulletin board and please tell me how to do that as well.. and maybe a bulleting board to post to. Thank you, again I apologize for my ignorance.

we had one of those impractical pos's.. dumped it at the first opportunity.
ok.. wasn't that 'bad' ... just tiny... and cold...
-
steve - when u click reply there is an 'attach file' option at the bottom of the post reply. Click on browse and select the picture.(cant be be bigger that 100kb tho)
hope this helps:)
-
Of course a standard vette would beat a standard evo down the strip, the evo is a 2ltr where the vette has 5.7ltrs. It would only beat it by a second or 2 tho. Evo is a rally bred car too designed to take corners at high speeds.
wrong friking coloum
lol AKDejaVu, they make cars like the tiger cause the engineering companies are all ways trying to out do each other and they are top at the moment. Its an awsome bit of kit:)

Uh,..it ain't street legal in U.S. unless it has 2,000 pounds of bumpers/side reinforcement rails in it. Course,..I dunt know if the Evo is available in the U.S.

lol he got it a bit wrong :)
What ya running?
thinking of going round nurburgring in the near future
-
You gonna drive the ring in your 1600 lb 360 hp Lancer? LOL
I think you are having metric confusion. It's more like 3100 lb and 260 hp.
-
Still waiting for my drivers license...
-
This one isn't as exotic as most here... but it's mine. :)
385 crate mill
150 NOS shot (haven't used it yet)
and 1700 watts.
-
:) super bee
-
hes got it running 360 at the mo, but hes increasing the boost and making it to a 2.2 ltr, some stronger pistons etc.
-
It's definitely 360 hp funked. I was in the passenger seat, swoopy was in the back. :) He's having an engine rebuild in March with all sorts of modifications.
Not sure on the weight though - I don't think he's had any lightening done (although it is the Japanese import version). Probably just the standard weight.
I love Evos. Subaru screwed up the Impreza beyond all recognition with the last face lift (check their sales figures). The 2003 car goes some way to rectifying it - but I'd rather have an Evo and be a little more individualistic. I've only seen one Evo on the roads all year (and I was riding in it :)). There are 3 lads at work with Impreza turbos.
-
we cant forget the best of them all the 1997 Mclaren F1 GTR
This thing has a 600hp V12 engine!

here is another pic of the mclaren f1 GTR
