This game has got to the point of unpeeling believeable. Gv modeling I am sorry is a laughing point. Has been always will be, it is not that difficult to get correct armor or penetrations for guns/armor for vehicles this game has got mario brothers built into it "quakers might love this". For the bandwagoneers you know who I am talking about the ones that come afterwards and say whiner or the other stupid bellybutton 6th grade level comeback. Here is one for you Screw you Mellon! Game is beyond a doubt boring and I am moving on, sorry it came to this but my 2+ years here have been wasted. Thinking something could evolve from this game into a really top notch sim. Guess what? It hasn't, graphics are laughable considering what is out there now, latency has become lets just say this unstable to be nice, all around this game just plain old sucks my left nuttsack. For those that still enjoy it I don't understand why. I thought it was for the squads, did that known the guys for a few years now. But the game in itself still sucks, HT or whoever updates your code this isn't the 90's hell even the 80's even more. I have read what you have said online and I still believe this game is marketed for the US only. I am from the US and I still don't quite understand your marketing when so many more things could be made or added for this game to draw an international crowd. Yet you still cater for the US. Do what you want, but you have lost a loyal paying customer who has lost his patience for this game. I know I am not the only who feels this way, but I am willing to speak what I feel. This game is a crock.

AGV, have a coke and a smile, as typcial of the L/W as you are, it's still painfully obvious to everyone in the game that you are one of the best pilots here, likely on any top ten list that anyone who knew what they were talking about would name.
There are problems, yes, but hell, consider the alternative for WW2 gaming. Those games redefine gayness, and if you think that you're pissed now, just wait until you've played there a month or two (I have, more is the pity).
If you're really going, I'd suggest joining a local militia for fun, you are, after all, in militiagin.

I have 2 comments at this point. 1) this game was created by a former AW player who saw a great opportunity & had the means to make it happen. 2) I havent heard of any game that can compare. Although I am seriously unhappy with the current trend of alt-bang/land-grab with mass numbers in the path of least resistance, & if you should happen to have to fight, HO till ya have to run. Unfortunaltely this is the best there is to offer at this time & the latest changes leave me to feel as though they are going for a more RR type arena. Maybe they will make a FR arena for those of us who seek a more realistic game.......

Im thinking GVs have finally been tweaked enough to make em fun again. Planeset is wonderful compared to two years ago.
AW going tits up did bring a whole new breed in, hasnt always been for the better, but there are a bunch of real fine folks who transited as well.
In the end, its all how you approach a thing, not how it approaches you that makes the difference.

Heh, I'm new, but in the time I've been here I've seen this guy start whine posts 3 or 4 times. While it hasn't affected my lust for this game it doesn't paint a good picture of the community when crap like that is tolerated. Then again, I'm used to game boards run by forum nazi's so I guess this is probably better :D

i have to agree abt the gv's altho' there are still some WTF? JEEBUS ON A POPSICLE STICK! characteristics... gv's are kinda fun at times.
can't comment on the planeset too far back, but i think we have a pretty good set that is fairly representative and allows for a wide variety of scenarios and MA/CT play.

I disagree. He didn't acheive the artistic aspect until his follow-up post. That was beauty how he was trying to bring all aspects of the game against him.
The FIRST post, however, the only one we should be judging, was about a 8.5 on artistic.

Nope, this game was created by a former Warbirds programmers and art crew, don't think any of them had anything to do with AW.
And the game is getting outdated when it comes to some (and mind you very important issues) things, like dammage modelling for both planes and GV's, it has become more of an arcade game where the only pretty realistic thing is the Flight modelling.
I love the game, I am addicted as I always have been and I have flown it since the first day of the open beta, but it has some serious issues that needs taking care off soon so that not only the arcade/quakers are happy but also the ones of us who enjoy more realism, otherwisw I believe many of us will leave as soon as something new comes on the market... and it will come.

Lets consider 1 thing.
If IL-2 would be as far as AH is now and if alot player would change to Il-2. AH would be dead.
AH is the only real chopice at the moment. But grafic is really from the mid 90's and doesnt represent the current standart of what is possible.
1 of the point AH is succesful is that it is the only playable online sim so far.
But i bet as soon as Il-2 is ready for Massive online playing- AH will be a shadow of itself.
And another importend thing is the player community.
I play AH because i like it so far and my buddies are all here.
If most of my friends would go to Il-2 (just in case) i would change too.

I still have to give him a 10.0 for Artistic Merit. The way he was able to weave different whines into one coherent squeak fest was sheer artistry. Just when you thought he was going to go this way with one whine, he draws you back with another whine. Working Mario Bros., into his whine that's what really made this rant work, it just spoke on so many levels.

Nope, HiTech is an ex-AWer. Made some nice little programs for it too, like the film viewer and I think he also made HiTech Paint or something like that to change the old DOS cockpit art. I think most of the original ICI guys were all ex-AWers too.

I havent flown in about 2 weeks and aint missing it yet. After Niemen I will most likely give up the account. The game just lacks the fun level it used to have.

Ya we got a lot of rif raf from AW but we got some prety cool people as well.
Personaly i would rather pay 30$ a month and have half the people playing.
I have prety much given up on the MA, I am going to spend my 17,000 perks and then Just play in the CT.
As it is now I play WW2 online for the ground war and I fly Il-2 now more each day, it is just awsome.
Instead of playing AH all the time I play it maybe an hour a day, whearas before I might average 120hours a month.
I think what has caused my enthusaim for AH to wane, are a couple things. One is the fact I played it to death, when you play as much as AG(sachs aka love muffen) or myself and for as long little things that are easy to over look become more anouying than they might otherwise be. Also hey to much of a good thing is not nescesarly good, I can only watch my favorate porn move like 15 times in a row and I nead a fresh one ya know. The Larger player base has kinda turned me off as well, the MA on the smaller maps reminds me of FA. When I play Il-2 it reminds me of what AH was like when I started playing it. The CT is still fun though good dog fights on interesting maps and fun plane match up's realy help me to saty interested in AH.
I know HTC worked hard on 1.11 I know they had a lot to do and I appricate theur hard work that they always do for us, this is one of the coolest things about HTC they do realy seam to care, I have been lucky enought to speak with most all of them on the phone a few times and they are very nice genioun and helpfull as players/customers we could not want for more.
I must howeaver say that from a players prespective form the user end of it, I was disapinted in the 1.11 update, I wated all summer and fall hoping for somthing to rekindel my interst in AH, now faced with the knowledge that I have at least 4 months before we get another update I am prety much beyond hope. It is kinda like that first line of Coke man what a high, then all you do is more hoping to acheave the same euphoria you had the first time, untill you finialy realise that it is not posable, that you are chasing a dream unatainable.
I do love the CT though, thank god for that.:)

Nah, I really don't care who wins the war. I just like to fly fighters and fight... whereever one can be found.
Ask around; there's plenty folks that run into me doing things in a P-51 that smart folks don't do.. like furballing on the deck.
The game is what YOU make it chums. Whatever you like, it's in there, it's happening when you're on... all you have to do is seek it out.
Of course, you can cry a river about how everyone doesn't play the way you want them to.. .that's a choice as well. :D
Still, with every post like this, I just see it getting better. For how terrible is it to do something you don't enjoy? Far better to do things you DO enjoy, right? Better for the person, better for the community.
So, he'll be a happier person when he does what he enjoys and stops doing what he does not enjoy. A good thing, no?

I rarely played in the couple days and all the time i logged on i saw La7b1kspits jerking around and ganging every con they can find.
The 15 minutes to day allmost ruined it.
I had couple days off logged in AH and was bored 5 minutes later.

fffreeze220, it is gooooooooooood. it looks good it flys good, the action is good, the plane choices are good the set up's are goooood, the arament options are fantistac, and their are NO Spitfires....in a word it is Heven.

Spit9 was THE most BEAUTIFUL plane of WW2...hands down....and the work horse was the Hurricane....2 planes won the battle of britain....not your luftweenie planeset....actually it got its bellybutton kicked back to the fatherland:D

What did ya wanna know freeze?
Il2 has missions (coops) and dogfight servers for every skill type. There are several "online" wars. Theres something for everyone.
The dogfight servers hold up to 32 live players and have a variety of plane types enabled. From early 1941 over Smolensk or Moskow. to 1945 flyin over Berlin. There are fantasy Dogfight maps as well. The coops are like mini intense scenarios especially flown in full real. No icons inflight radar etc.
Brady and I flew for about 2 hours last night and even though I only got 3 kills it gets you sweating and heart moving. You feel drained afterward. I got in a fight with a yak 7 that was strictly awesome.
Brady (still getting used to the fm) stalled and went into a flat spin trying to follow the yak up. The yak was fixated on me and eventually I roped him. He stalled and I came back down and nailed him. He didnt do one of those ah explode to tower deals he simply burnt up. It was a beautiful sight.
The eye candy in il2 adds alot to the immersion buts it the gunnery and dm that make it fun.
Brady and I were in another coop in g6s and it was a blast as well.
Il2 doesnt replace the instant action you get from entering into the ah main. Its box game with a multiplater component. But if you ever played EAW its that level of intense fun.
Server quality depends on the host. On hyperlobby theres lotsa Euro players so finding a good host shouldnt be hard. I havent seen the type of lag in any il2 game that I have seen in ah. There is lag but for the most part it depends on whos hosting.

Any question you have getting the game set up email me. In the past week about 3 squaddies went out and got il2 and we got umm set up. Brady has had the game 3 days now and seems hooked. BTW most folks play on hyperlobby so dl it once ya get il2 up and running.
If nothing else its a break from AH. Everyone needs a little strange now and again.

I dont think ill totally brake with AH. I have to many good friends flying it and i dont want to miss em.
But i defenetly need a brake. I am getting to often to agresive and that not good.
I also dont like like to fly like a coward just to stay allive. aNd the current MA doesnt give u other choices.
Ill defenitly go out and buy IL-2.

nah Wlfgng WB3 would be luck to have half the number of people playing, they have more like 1/4.
I still enjoy this game, but it isn't the only game I play by a long shot, GPL, diablo 2, f1-2001, console games. So AH will be good for a while to me.
I don't drive GV's all that much, so I can't really comment on them. I just have fun playing, I am not a ww2 pilot nor do I pretend to be. I have tried almost every air-sim worth talking about to date and none of them have kept my attention for over a year (aside from WB).
