All these recent threads got me kinda curious,
So how many of ya's have gone "the distance"? (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
Cpid = IRA (AW in Genie days)
Handle= Pzvg (Warbirds .095-2.0)
Handle= PzvgII (Aces High here and now)

"J_A_B" in AW
Followed WB's development but never played more than a couple days here and there. Could not rationalize paying by the hour.
"JAB210" in AH currently. GOD I HATE THAT ID!!!!!
So I guess I've been following online flightsims since early 1996 or so (a relative newcomer)
J_A_B
-
Tried to do AW but always had a bug so gave it up. Did WB but found the hourly charges hard to justify. Have been doing AH now for 2 months and love it. So... 2 outta 3 ain't bad since 1997.
Flew tons of offline fight sims though since 1993 dating back to Chuck Yeager's Air Combat (still a superb sim IMHO), Dynamix's Red Baron and Aces of the Pacific.
And I still can't shoot or fly either :-)

FRman in AW
FR-man in WB
Finally Frenchy (was free) in AH wohoo!

heheh was BigJim in all of em but in the early days of AW (dos ver) tail numbers were the i.d. numbers and I have forgotten what it was, and WB/confirmed kill deal was limited altho I did fly DoA for awhile and had a WB's limited account. I have been with AH since beta and am still here although I have been know to grumble LOLOLOL

Forgot the AW handle....man that was too many years ago.
WB: reske and rscke; Left in order to keep my marriage happy. That per hour charge was too much.
CK: Resck
AH: Was something different in beta; I forgot what it was. Now I am Reschke; I have been LJKSix and LJKResch in here.

Westy,
No.. in WB I was "Toed".
Pain Squad hung on to AW too long a time, hoping for those ever promised upgrades. When we finally all did move to WB, "Toad" was already taken, so I just altered the spelling a bit.
However, I reclaimed it here and have bribed Hatch to hold it for me over at CRS, just in case. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Moa in AW DOS (1995?)
Legba in AW4W beta through AW4W on AOL
Then someone accused me of being an alt monkey. And I said anyone who only had 2K of alt advantage wasn't highly evolved enough to be a monkey... I said I was more of an alt lemur.
Liked it so much I became...

Yanno.. some things come up clear as a bell doods, gotta wonder about those who 'forget' who they were.
All the interaction in the arena boiled down to who you were. In the 'old' days of AW there was *plenty* of interaction :)
1326
handle: Deader for almost a year.
AW on my Amiga 500 (I still have it).
DOS was for wacko's who enjoyed command line interface.
Typists. -grin-
A wimmens skill, still.
(tongue firmly in cheek, as I sit here, typing)
I miss 1571 .. wonder whatever happened to him. And Krazy Kat, Mullah, Ghost Rider, 3339 (ya, BB..ya wacko), ..and especially the FUBAR. Lady Jen, Hoppy and Pho, JJ (1622)..and the soul of C land.. Volstag.
When I got pissed off at Fencer and left the Warthogs, I changed my handle to Gray Eagle. And so it has remained, through AWDOS, AWSVGA, AWFW, AW2, AW3, and now AH.
Frankly, I never had the time to fly WB, and the 'draw' was never there to do so.

CK / WB: smut (later -smut-)
AH: Smut

I emailed w/BB the other nite. He bought himself a new plane, so it'll take some arm-twisting to get him to get hooked into this again.
I have a suspicion that Mullah is here already. I saw a plane with the ID "21122112" the other nite for a few minutes. 2112 was his old AW number.
Not sure about the rest. I'm sure more will trickle in.

Wardog,
I was in NKB (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) I remember you as Bulldog! I also remember paying $700 to get top buff one TOD LOL ..this is a lot easier on the pocket book! <S> you salty dog you! Ever here from Streaker since...??
Thunder
-
LOL Thunder, was about to edit my post and ask if ya knew what Streaker was up to now adays.. To funny (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) I remeber some fantastic b17 runs with fully gunned ships. God its been a long time ..I remember 1 b17 run to refinery where i thought i blew the drop and Streaker was in observers seat and we had a fully load b17 with every gunner position full. Ended up nailing 68,000 points for each of us in the b17. Ill never forget that run (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Never heard anything from Streaker after i went to the 13th TAS. Not sure what he is doing now.
Dog out. <S> Thunder..
-
Damn... those were fun times weren't they! I meet Streaker once.. he was in computer appication software as I recall. I met him in Washington D.C. and he was getting really busy. Lost touch with him, I think he went off into some role playing game? Been a long time. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) After I went to A.C.I.D. (Agents of Common Intent..Destruction) I experimented with comb refer and fuel targets. I found that points were awarded differently by the directions you dropped on various targets. And also the landing was critical. If you pegged the center of the runway and stopped dead center your score was higher too. I had a couple of combos I had that netted 149,000. I remember Piloting Freelance, Scarecrow,Adler,Wild Turkey,RD,& Zap and we all got 149,000 for the run. The BS that used to fly back and for was as much fun as the flying. I remember the 13th TAS, Muskies,The Damned and too many more to mention. The flightsims have come so far and Aces High is the cutting edge. I am 52 years old and I hope I'll be lucky enough to make it though another 10 years of WWII airsimming with you all. I've had too much fun to stop. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
By the way.... Thanks too every pilot out there. No matter what we think of each other at any given time, it takes ALL of us to make this what it is. Its an everchanging adventure and its played against real players. Salute all of you!
Thunder
