Graphically, it's better than AH. Terrain is somewhere between IL2 and AH.
Since my computer at home can't display all the textures in WB3, I am quite content with the lower graphical detail in AH.
Aircraft look only slightly better than in AH.
There are some bugs-shadows of parts of the airplane that have been shot up are still visible , control surfaces that are still there sometimes appear to have been removed.
Flight model is quite similar, except that roll is much more sluggish. I don't know which of the two sims simulates it more realistically.
Damage model-sucks beyond belief. When the tail is completely removed, the plane continues on the same trajectory as it was.
When the vertical tail is destroyed, aircraft is still controllable in turns.
I have only tried the sim offline, therefore that's all I have to say for now.

WB3 top of the worst games I have ever played!!
Like I want to up 32 times to get HO'd 32 times in a row...
The game is anti Newb all the way!! IT could be free for life and I would ignore it!!

WB got to the point with me, that it was akin to being locked in a room with the theme song to "Mash" playing on an infinate loop...

I experience far more HO's in WBIII than I ever do in Aces High. Seems there are more players willing to do a little ACM. It's not the sim it used to be anymore and there's not much of the community left with around 40 players in GMT timezone. Now Wild Bill has the team at iEN working on an Iraqi tank game,a cheesy RPG and a snowboarding game so I don't see Warbirds III improving all that much.

I can totally understand why they are moving on, away from Warbirds:
1: WB3 is behind in damage modelling
2: the engine they use for terraing graphics is excellent and would work well for a ground-level game
3: AH exists

Problem with Warbirds is that they try to correct a problem related to computers (stick stirring) by adjusting something relating to physics (the flight model).
This means that there's some artificial inertia when it comes to roll. Claiming it is accurate is simply nonsense. Firstly, the makers have explained that they did it this way to fix stick stirring (saw it on a WB thread) and secondly, I've been in Cessnas, Skyvans and Islanders. These reach their maximum roll rate quite quickly. Some of the meatbomb drivers (that's pilots piloting planes used for skydiving for you illiterate fools who have yet to experience the wondrous world of free fall) fly their planes rather aggressively, and even such stable planes have a higher initial roll rate than the WB 190.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who recalls such a thread long long ago now it's dressed up as something else but I recall this being the original explanation.

I see now....even with damping, planes in AH roll much quicker.

Yup iEN may well have bought Hitech's patent for reducing latency but they apparently have'nt got a clue what to do with it.

HiTechs netcode is awesome. I know that more than a few game developers would drool if they thought they could get a hand on it.
Just look at it. Tons of multiplayer games out there. Extremely few with decent netcode.
Think HT's seret is including it as one of the most important design goals form the get go, instead of doing what most companies do: 'oh we want multiplayer too. Let's send some packets somewhere'.

Was in WB for about 2 months this past year. I personally prefer AH and dumped my WB account. Prefer the AH FM over WB. Why....dunno...WB felt more like mush birds.
