Hobodog's video card conquest (or, lack of) in this thread located in the Hardware and Software cracks me up. I can't stop laughing :D :D :D
I would react the SAME way :D

I feel your pain with the difficulty of your hardware, but I cant stop laughing at your response!!
[EDIT: No, i do not laugh at others' misfortunes all the time. :D Someone trips and falls, I can't help but laugh as I ask them if they're ok :D]

It didn't really do anything for me until the end.

I had a similar experience a few months ago when I fried my Sony 17".Well,didn't actually fry it but was getting severe horizontal banding.I phone up the local shop that I've been dealing with and explained my problem and wanted an estimate in case he could fix it.I was told it would cost $60 to look at and he already knew it was fried from what I told him on the phone(that it's 3 years old,has horizontal banding and that I smack it quite frequently while playing flight sims). He said he had a new 17" he could sell me for $200 and this sounded like a good idea. After further discussion he had me sold on a new flat screen 19" sony for only $650.So in the spirit of "out with the old,in with the new",on my way out to the store I left the old monitor in the garbage chute room(wouldn't fit)..Lol..Went to the store bought the nice new monitor, brought it home hooked it up...And guess what?..I bolted out the door to the garbage chute
room and it was gone for good!..Turned out the problem was my 2 year old TNT2 Ultra was fried!!!
