I started a new thread to reply to pfunk's comments on georgia football. That other thread was about somethin else. ;)

With a UGA win we will more than likely have the best recruiting class in the southeast. That and a class act coach will mean very good things for the Dawgs in the next few years, I'd even venture to say a Nat'l Championship within the next 3 years. Bama is in for a world of hurt, still on probation AND a new coach. Ole Zook will probably not make it thru next season, Fulmer-well cant say much about the Pumpkin, but Tenn. might turn it around.
I hope to see georgia beat FSU too, but don't too cocky man. It's not like it's impossible for FSU to win. FSU beat a team that beat you guys this year if you'll remember correctly. ;)
And don't forget georgias in the SEC. Thinkin' you guys are gonna skate along because you have a good coach is overly-optimistic.

Not just a good coach. With the season that UGA has had this year recruiting will be thru the roof. If we beat FSU this will only solidify our position as the dominant SEC and for that matter ACC team. Many of our recruits we are looking at are interested in FSU as well. Now as far as I see it, who in their right mind would want to go play for a program that is in a major downswing, a QB that cant stay awake in a final, and is declared ineligable for the sugar bowl. Another player suspened from the team in a check forgery scheme. Another player suspended for an altercation at a local mall. Tennessee had one of their worst years, so did Florida. It is very evident that UGA is a program on the rise, only 1 year after hiring a new coach, the program goes 11-1 facing arguably some of the toughest teams in the nation. Alabama is in a world of hurt and their program is in shambles. Coach Richt is one hell of a class act, we still have some thugs left ever from the Donnan recruiting era. But the work ethic that Coach Richt has instilled in these kids is remarkable, not only that but every player on the Team is required to attend church services on Sun. Georgia will "Finish The Drill" against FSU (hopefully) and everyone here in DawgNation is very optimistic about the way our beloved football program is headed, I dont think that ANY other team in the SEC can say that right now.

I agree that UGA is on the rise. Richt has done a lot in a short time. But you do remember the offensive breakdown against florida? Isn't that the game UGA went the entire game without a single third down conversion?
You mentioned tennessee and florida being on the downswing as georgia is in an upswing. You realize georgias upswing is related to the other teams downswings?
Not dissing dem dawgies, just a reality check man. :D The SEC is very competitive. And nobody knows what kinda season we're gonna have next year.

I live come from a family of Michigan Wolverine fans. My wife graduated from U of M. I am a Tennessee Volunteers fan. When it comes to SEC football. As long as Tennessee doesn't play another SEC team. I am SEC all the way.
Go Vols, and Dogs.
