Title: .target commands units ?

When playing with the .target command
i tried to fire AP shells at a target set to .target 1200
and noticed the hits not came anywhere near the
12 mark in the gunsight.
That made me wonder, is it feet or yards ?
Or could it be the sight that is incorrect ?

I believe the distances are in yards.

Theyre suppose to be as far as I know.
