say it isn't so.. just met a girl from there....
well.. .from Vancouver anyway...

If you like lots of rain...move to the west coast. BUT...it is also very beautiful and has some of the best skiing in the world in the mountains. Haven't lived there, but almost did.
I've heard Calgary is nice...but COLD in the winter.
I lived in Toronto almost 12 years. Fantastic city...kind of like New York, but smaller and (dare I say it) safer. It can be tough to meet people there, but once you find yourself a circle of friends it really is a great place to live.
Quebec... Oh no don't go in there!
East Coast...Heard great things about Halifax.

Montreal has a higher ratio of hotties than any city I have visited in North America.
-
You mean strippers don't you Funked..?
:D
-
Don't get me wrong..there is nothing wrong with "visiting" Quebec. :)
I really enjoyed Montreal and I especially like Quebec City. Still wouldn't want to live there.

I have met both Canadians and I found them to be nice people....
;)

There is definately a hot girl factory here in Montreal. I've lived out west and in the middle. Culture- go east, nice weather and outdoor activity- go west. Not sure about standard of living etc, except that we are usually rated the top country in the world to live in. Cable internet is usually between $30-40 Canadian. Taxes suck azz, medicare is good (relatively).

Vancouver probably isnt in the top 100 cities in the world for hiv.
Big country . What you looking for?
-
ok well consider9in i live in vancouver i can tell u lots about it
i'll tell u that YES it does hv a high HIV rate, BUT thats only in the downtown east side, basically, the potato houses and homeless..
vancouver has exactly what ur looking to move into, u want a condo? got lots of those...apartments, damn straight, older homes, newer homes...u name it
Vancouver has everything, except, it doesnt have that much of anyhting to do, dont get me wrong it has lots to do, but many ppl who live in vancouver seem to be looking for somehting to do...mind you, other cities arnt that far away to visit....Seattle, Calgary, Edmonton...
anyway

Actually it's about 3 million people. It's only 4 million if you count Mississauga, Brampton and Vaughan. :)
We had 60 murders in 2002, which was I believe the highest in recent history.
I've lived in the city for a long time and, despite the usual griping about anything and everything that Canadians do, I love it here. (Love the city anyway. The country? The federal government? That's a story for another time.)

Actually echoliptik,
In 2001 there were 59 murders in Toronto and 78 in GTA.
I dont think 2002 stats have been released yet.
and population number is:
Toronto (city) Total - All persons 2,456,805
Toronto (GTA) Total - All persons 4,647,955
from Statistics Canada 2001

and 50 % of the murders are of Jamacians murdering each other. Take them out of the mix and non spousal murder almost disapears.

I've lived in Alberta all my life.
The winters (except the past few) can be miserable, but winter allows us to do tons of great activities. Every year we would build a backyard rink and have hours of fun. We would stay out there until we couldn't feel our toes......and man it would BURN when they started to thaw:)
I guess you would have to describe the climate, scenery and what you want to do for a living and that might narrow it down. Vancouver is quite expensive. A 100,000 dollar home in Edmonton, Ab is probably 4X more expensive in Vancouver.

Hardly the highest HIV, ya might have missed spelled it. Am sure you meant highest THC.
Go to http://www.canada.com ,from there pick a city and get all the news and local info from there.
Dog out...........

Ill second that!
Ive only ever visited sudbury but it really is a beautiful place. You can be inthe middle of the city, and be only a 30 min drive to the middle of nowhere. Its a mineing economy though, so im not sure what the job situation is.
But you can buy blueberries on every street corner in the summer :)
