Title: advice
Post by: Dnil on December 31, 2002, 05:43:10 PM
Ok here is the scenario.

I have just finished vulc..err cap'n a field and am now run...err repositioning.  I am in a 51D and only plane following is an La-7 and its gaining, what do I do?  La-7 is the only plane that gives me fits.  Usually if I can't outrun it I can out turn it, not so with the La-7.

thx in advance.

2 notches of flaps, you can outturn it to the left I believe because the prop spins to the right on all russian planes.  Bring it into a rolling scissors if you're going slower than it and you should lose speed more rapidly than the La-7 allowing you to get the shot.

In that situation he has all the cards.  La-7 is a better fighter in every aspect on the deck.  You have to do some of that pilot stuff.

Turn around, and kill the guy.  Don't fear the LaLas, they're more afraid of you than you are of them.

I dont know what is wrong but I never catch P51 with La7 on deck. Speed seems to be the same. P51 is not going faster but its not slower.

If the La is fast, pull up to 3k AGL, roll inverted, pull back on throttle drop one notch of flaps and reverse under.

9 times out of 10 the lala will auger, the 10th time its either Shane or Kbman and they won't follow you under.
