Yesterday i was in an B17 somewhere
alway's fly between 15K and 18K high enough for an B17
But what happend is crazy for words an enemy B17 started to attack me
So my son was watching me as everyday and i said to him you want to fly now , you had to see his eyes REALLY dad .
and yes he got his first kill online , i was drinking my coffee and saw that an fighter was coming fast from below , i couldn't send my son away from thwe puter he was so proud he shot that B17 down , and yes after 2 attacks that Spit9 went down too
that maked me proud an 6 year old Guy got 2 kills and landed his B17 safe on friendly field .
have to say he fly 1 hour each day offline in bombers and fighters .
I think he should do it pretty good online so i am thinking he may play online now everyday for an hour , So be gently for him ;) shoot him quick and nice down :D just an joke :p

Hehe...cool.
I am not yet blessed with infants around, but I'd love to ensnare my wife into this.
Much better having her as a wingman than standing in the doorway giving me an icy look.
Wonder if there are any other women or flyers wifes involved???

Yeah I know how you feel. My 3 year old son is always standing next to me when I fly screaming.."DAD A RED PLANE A RED PLANE...SHOOOOOOOT IT!!!!!". After my palms are sweating and I'm a nervous wreck from my son making me crazy I sometimes get the Kill. The next thing he says is..."You rock Dad...High Five!". Now if that doesn't make you feel good.
Now I let him go offline and fly the SpitV all the time. I let him in the training arena last week with a few squaddies and just let him do it by himself. Took my guys like 5 tries to even shoot him down. What did bother me though was when they asked me when I learned all those awesome moves.
Hmph! Showed up by my 3 year old. Wonder if he'll train me :D

Cool! Okay, have to boast here:
Gman, my now 5 yr old son, started playing Warbirds at age 3, with no help from dad other than watching me. He had a full fledged AH account at age 4 and flew with alot of guys in AH that are on this board, joined several Ripsnort missions...when he got kills, imagine the surprise on the ears of those I privated and told them a 4 yr. old just shot them down?! Hehe..well, Gman is still flying HTH, and lately he's into CFS2..but I suspect he'll be making a return to AH soon again with his own account.
I believe I hold the record for the youngest pilot flying without dad's help, age 3, complete with his own computer and HOTAS gear. :D
Here he is at age 4 flying a Spit in one of the Knits missions, he's standing since his brother had spilled some milk on his chair, but that didn't stop him from completing his tasks!

His brother, age 3 now, has his own computer too, but has yet to show the interest in flight sims that Gman has.

My unborn daughter got a 6 kill streek in a 109g2 :)
Seriously though this raises one important issue. We all have to remain aware that kiddies are in AH and as such should conduct our comms and callsigns accordingly. The bad language filter is easily avoided by deliberate mis-spellings. I don't have kids but if I did I'm not sure if I'd like them to be reading some of the comms postings :(

I used to have an office somewhere in the mediterranean, and on weekends and late afternoons my coworker's would often come in to check email with his 5-year-old son. He'd send his son down to my office and I'd put him online in a C47. He loved to fly, but he hated to have guys jump out of his planes, and he really couldn't stand the sound of guns.
Okay, so maybe he's not fighter-jock material. MSFS or something.

Ripsnort, that can't be your kid....he's got hair! LOL :)
No kids around this house but I've got several cats that will send any airplane on autopilot into a deadly spiral and crash. Stupid me walks away from the computer to use the bathroom and when I return, one of the cats/kittens will have decided that "HEY, this joystick thing is GREAT to rub your chin on...."
For what its worth, kittens fly further if you spiral them a bit on the toss..... :D

No..but 6 year olds can. My 6 yr. old loves it when dad lets him fly online, especially on squad night.

You bet there are! :) I first started in AW after watching my husband playing for about six months. I never thought I would ever fly, but originally intended just gunning or going in vehicles. I was invited into the Krait Squadron (my husband, Zeb and son, Cloud were already members) and soon discovered that my idea meant a lot of sitting around on the ground. I was eventually persuaded to try flying, and took my first faltering steps in a fighter cockpit... I later decided to concentrate on being a bomber pilot and have specialised in B17s (and now Lancs!) ever since.
So, what started off a vague interest in watching my husband fly eventually developed into me becoming so hooked I often drive him mad! He says I am addicted.... but what does he know! :D
Watch out for more women players coming into the game from AW - there were quite a few of us played over the years.... ;)
