Whose your most feared squad? Can be in past, or present.
-
Nomads.
-
56th, TED, and my old squad JG 2 are all pretty scary in my book...
-
Ewe, good question!
After I got my sea-legs in Flight Sims, there really wasn't a Squad I 'Feared'. But, when I first started in B-land FR of AW in the Fall of 1997, there was a Cz P38 Squad that used to rule the skies of the ETO map. Forget their Squad Name ... Big-R, Big-T, Fluffy, Kitty. They used to swoop in, kill the acks at our center base, and kill us in droves.
The most respected Squads we've faced off against as Nightmares are the Squads that have run Squad Nights the same night as ours, Sunday Nights. There was the elite Cz Squad that SM put together, the Eagles I think. Had all the trainers in it, man, those guys were killers!
But, the all time favorite Sunday Night knock down drag outs that we had were against the Damned! Those guys and gals ruled the skies of AW on Sunday Nights! We even had some rumblings in the Squad of changing Squad Nights because the Cz were thick as theives on that night (I think they even brought some buddies in from RR to help ;)). I was sad when they left AW, we lost a great rivalry.
It was wonderful to come over to AH and face off against the Damned again on Sunday Nights ... brings back those memories of when I was first cutting my teeth in Flight Sims, when everything was kind of magical and unbelievable (now I'm just an old, doddering fool :)).
Salute Damned, you have always been a worthy opponent!

Some japanese squads can be very nasty when they do co-operate. For example "tokio shock boys".
I dont "fear" them but I dont remember have I ever killed anyone...:o
;)

Fear is for sissies, get em a la7 to run in:rolleyes: Seriously, this is a Sim, no fear should ever be present here, and if it is, then you got something wrong with you.:D
Let me go hide now, Im scared of the guaranteed flamfest to follow my hijacking:eek:

Is it just me, or do the 'Tokyo Shock Boys' sound like some Japanese rent boy service? :D
No offence intended - it just sounds a bit camp. :)
-
Well, I don’t fear any squad yet, except …
About three months ago, just when I was starting doing things right in AH, I was at 20k in an Fw-190 (A8 I think) cruising toward the front. Checking six regularly and other views occasionally, I spotted 4 Ponys 10 o’clock high, closing. I realized then that either these guys were complete morons … or I was tagged-on-the-toe dead. After a brief engagement … the latter.
Now, for some reason when I see a high Pony, I frantically search for more of them. I don’t know who they were … but I fear them.

seul chock boyz
but alas, it has long been splintered since the leader was forced to exile :(

Sunday Nights was CZ Defense Night. We protected the sheep.
EVERY Green squad was involved. And I mean EVERY. Flying Tigers, Damned, Groverats, Hired Guns, others I'm forgetting...
I think I can honestly say this is probably what started the RJO, even tho none of the founding CZ Defense Squads founded the RJO

Ah, CDF nights.... used to love those, even though they usually started in earnest way past my bedtime. Some of us on earlier would get involved with 'preparations' for the CDF Ops later.... great fun.I think I can honestly say this is probably what started the RJO,
As soon as I heard about RJO activities, I had very little doubt this was the case.... :) Pity they are in the wrong country now..... :(
-
The Damned. Because hearing 30 grown men sing South Pacific over range channel is extremely chilling.
ack-ack
-
343rd kokutai kicks my bellybutton about every time I am fortunate to run accross one of them .
Damn you wingzero !

Roger that Aub and Flossy, I didn't mean to leave anyone out, I knew it was an all-Country effort :). And yes, you are right in a round-about sort of way. The CDF in AirWarrior lead to B-land Squads uniting into the B-land Joint Operations group for self preservation purposes! Most of these core Squads from B-land all happened to settle in Rookland, and founded the RJO, which has taken on a life of its own with advancements from old Cz and Az Squads, as well as Squads who never graced AW with their presence ;).

I wouldn't say fear.. but more like repect the Damned and Coach in this damned typhoon
-
13th TAS
Not that I "fear" them per se...I've never actually fought one. Oh sure, I've had them on my six and been turned into a flaming wreak on numerous occassions by them...but never a fight (which is probably just as well).
Whenever I see two or three 'Stangs above me now I just "get out of dodge"as quickly as possible.
One day I'm gonna bounce Toad or Rude...one day...;)

The Assassins in their uber rides:)

The Mighty Fluffs! If I remember correctly, Big-T's handle was Eustice T. Fluff, Sheriff. Marcy also flew with them if I'm not mistaken.

The only time I hear much from the Tokyo Shock Boys is when they're landing multiple kills in their N1K2's and A6Ms. And that alone should say something about how good they are.
Whenever I see that squad name, I think of the motorcycle gangs in "Black Rain" and "Akira": leather jackets, fast bikes, and samurai swords.
-
I'd have to say I fear my own squad the most.
I know Honch looks at my six really suspiciously, and let's just say that I wouldn't bend down to pick up the soap with any of those guys around.

From an air to air stand point. Frenchy and the 56th. You used to be able to see them coming..but now there are enought jugs in use that you can be in the middle of them and not know it till they start working together. All good sticks. Very cool to watch the buffer when they land squad kills one after the other.
From a squad strat stand point.
The MAW. They dont stop and they come to get the job done. If you dont get up 15 pilots to oppose them they get what they came for.
-
I would say The AK's..

cc that Pongo. I've been seeing many Jugs lately... myself included! I might become a jug addict ;)
I'd also have to say the 56th, along with the 13th TAS. I love to see good coordination. A few 13th members have a perfectly timed pounce that usually sends me running whenever I encounter them (they're usually 15k over my head tho :D).
VMF-323 has excellent squad ops when we get off our lazy arses and work together :D In the past, we have a record of 12 second (not totally sure) field closures.
Anything coordinated (and not a massive horde) is awesome fun.
-
No fear involved but I have a healthy dose of respect for The Assassins, 56th, MAW, massed AK raids, 3./JG2 and lastly my old squadron LuftJagerKorps (LJK) which has passed into the history books.
-
It's easy... the AK. You don't find one or two in the MA; you find 20+.
-
No fear involved ... just results and impact ... AKs ... <
>
Love fightin' with the AKs :D
-
Althought the question relates heavily to the time zone that you play in, I'd say that in my time zone (CET) the 56th FG is the one you should beware of. You never encounter such teamwork as in 56th. Be behind of one jug of the 56th and you can count on that there's another jug behind you.
Any time I face multiple P-47's, I'm very careful.
-
I don't fear any squads. I respect a few, though. Off the top of my head: 13th, 56th, TED, AK. I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple, but those squads are a joy to watch work, and engage. Some great sticks in there....
to you guys.
can't forget to mention the squads I work with...all that participate in the RJO. Ghostdancer, you lead some great coordinated assaults. Always a pleasure to fly with you guys.
-
I wouldn't say fear, but I search for AK's, its fun to try and bust up their captures. Curly makes you work for those goon kills.
I like'm because they're sneaky bastages, like us.

Hmm, it woul have to be the 444th Air Mafia after the 2000 AW con in Indy, I had brewed and bottled a special beer for them and the "Con goers" Hijacked before the rest of the squad got any...... Felt really hunted there for a while
Gunns
-
The BYACAW was a triumph I think...
BarnYard Animals Composite Air Wing.
Flying Pigs, Rogue Gryffons, Black Sheep, and Dweebs of Death. We put up approximately 100 pilots one night. The whining reached biblical proportions.
-
That guy hiding behind the AAA gun with no tracers.
-
13th Tas when they above 28k.
Under 28k, I only fear the ack they run to ;) ;) :D
-
Nobody flys at higher alt than the 555's except for the ponyboys 13th TAS Being a loyal Knight and never switching sides , I never get to fly against the Best squads , but the NightHawks and Arabian Biscuits are damn good :)
-
LOL since when do the 13th tas fly above 20k?
Hope im not missing something lol...
-
I used to pee my pants whenever the "Stark Fist of Retribution" were online (I always preferred to refer to them as "The Stark Finger of Insertion"). The "Kitchen Utensils" were awesome way back.
Seemed now-a-days I stayed buzy just tryin to catalogue all the new squads that croped up by the hour.
Hblairs squad (I fergot name, some LW job) was always pause for concern and of course the redoubtable AKs and MAWs (so damned many of em) always secured a good scrap regardless of the odds.
Why did I keep talking in the past tense?...................
I was not here, you did not see me.
-
Been out of time and haven't be able to answer my question. I personally would shet myself if i wasn't a =TED= and i saw a group of p38's at any alt. Some of the things I have seen fester, kappa, mane and some other guys do is unreal, and no matter what they always seem to save the skin on my ass. :D Yeah, don't forget that Tac dweeb if hes around, scary mother $^%#@ :D
-
I have no fear whatsoever of the 56th or the AK's for that matter!!!
Course they fly Bish:)
-
i feer lazer bcuz hes always checkn my 6

Wld we told ya always intoduce yourself, then follow up with
" And I am An Alt Dweeb"
Assassins and AK's
And the Canadian Juniors:)
-
lol sax :)
-
The ambiguous gay duo of course.
-
not fear as its practically impossible to fear anything but I would rather not run into any organised squad when alone.
The ones who usually appear to be organised have to be the AKs or 13th TAS although i havent seen much of the 13th TAS of late.
Used to be you knew it was them as soon as you saw 5 or more P51s above you :p
individuals i do hate to run into are people like fester cause hes so damned annoyingly good and then theres that shane fellow because well he stinks so much as he flies by it makes me hurl! :) he needs a shower :D
shane :)
-
These guys are fun to watch.
-
Shower?
-
omg doogy those guys look like lazer and mane!!!! ahhh chk yer 6!!! ahhhhh!!!!!

Heheh, the Kitchen Utensil Assault Group, or something like that! That's an old, old one! :)
Most feared, probably Jg54 when they were at full strength. Used to give me neck ache having to look up all the damned time! :)
-
Fear? Nah. Respect...all time, the War Hawks from AW on Genie.
Here? Gotta be the AK's. Always a challenge to try to stop them. They aren't your average, run of the mill AH lemmings (they are special uber lemmings :D ).
