Vulcan, this is no game- Eagler is showing us a pic of the new British Home Office-mandated helmets every British citizen will be required to wear in public starting in 2004.
Since the British gun ban instances of biting assaults in England jumped over 500%. It is thought the face guards on these helmets will prevent instances of biting attacks.
Although initally opposed by most Brits, modifications to the face guard to allow easier access for public smoking have helped the new helmets gain widespread public acceptance.

Hmm. Pizza and beer night tonight! I don't really care who wins, watching the game should be fun though.

I thought rugby was that sport where men in shorts gather round in a circle with their arms around each other, then woller around on the ground together ?

heh. I wonder how many people NFL Pro Bowl defensemen would kill while playing Rugby before they're banned.

Australian football and rugby are way ttougher than weak bellybutton American football.
Protective gear? Bah, real men laugh at such things.

Rugby is a tough sport.
In one particularly rough game in the late 70s between England and the All Blacks a tooth was surgically removed from one of the linesmen (linesmen in this game are non-players who run up and down the sidelines helping the ref determine whose ball it is when the ball goes off the playing field). After examination it was determined that the tooth belonged to the linesman on the other side of the pitch.
