I just happened to surf their website and downloaded this free online game. Anyone playing this?
America's Army website (http://americasarmy.com)
From other AA site:
"It sounds like a conspiracy, doesn’t it? A game funded by the government, made by the Army, and given away to the public for free. The kicker is that it is totally and completely free. When you think about it, it’s not terribly surprising. If you want to reach the youth of America, go where the youth go: video games"
This sounds very interesting!

Yep the game is awsome........

I play it way more than I play AH.

nah i stoped ... hated when your team throws a nade at U thinking you were the enemy. (even though the round started 30 seconds ago) Then you have to wait 6-7 minutes while some retard sits and camps when hes on the assault team.
The game was fun when it first came out.. but now theres more and more cheaters.... i smell CS all over again.

somebody's been in a cave for a few years :)

I was hoping to load in on my computer I don't have internet access for, and just practice a bit until I get internet back.
It won't let me progress beyond m-16 qualification without internet it appears. Bummer.

great game...as long as you dont get tked on the BRIDGE MAP while in the DEFENCE tower by some tard and his 203

Been playing it for quite a bit, the Strategy part of the game is what I like. It emphasises more teamwork aspect. Bullet trajectory is quite fun, but then again I've never fired a real m16.
Like chaos says.. it sucks getting killed by your team at the start of a map, its one life, so you'll have to wait for a long while and watch.
The game isn't terribly hard to learn and I became somewhat good within 4 days of playing it. Not like in Aces High where I'm still learning.
Overal its a decent game, the realism is its big plus. Netcode is crappy, graphics mediocre, team play good, maps fun, I like mountain pass the best then probably Weapons Cache SE because you get to use the m4 and those rangers seems to be tons more accurate.

fwiw m16 is very flat, fast and accurate

Wlfgng's right. The weapons are very accurately modeled, and everything is right out of the "smart book" you spend a couple of months carrying around in your pocket. (The targets at qualification ranges aren't orange tho) I tried the game, but uninstalled it the first time some Drill Sgt. told me to "range walk". Been there, done that, don't wanna put the t-shirt back on :D
Never flown a Yak before, so I think AH is fabulous fun!

interesting concept... just too much downtime for my gaming needs. If I'm going to play a game where I stand a good chance of being taken out by my teammates in the first 30 seconds of the game, I only want to have to wait another 30 seconds before I'm back in the action.
