Hi, all!
Bit of an unusual question this - I've recently become aware of how easy it is these days to create anaglyphs (3D pics you have to use red/green or red/blue glasses to see in 3D) from a couple of suitable pictures, and having set up the necessary software, I thought I'd see whether this can be done with AH screenshots. I'm not doing too well, though, and was wondering if anyone knows why...
Now, I know I'm not likely to get shots as good as in real life as much of the detail in the AH world is texture rather than actual 3D-ness, IYSWIM, but I've been puzzled at how hard it seems to be to get much 3D effect at all. One thing I wanted to try to see if I could recreate was aerial stereoscopy, as used in photo-recon during the war - pics would be taken a short distance apart and combined to form a stereo image. I was surprised to note that I couldn't get an impression of the ups and downs of the terrain around places like Kaunas, Vilnius and Daugavpils in the Niemen terrain, from the air. Driving a tank around I could get a bit of an effect looking towards an airfield by taking two pics a few metres apart, but even so it wasn't impressive.
Any ideas on this one, folks?

(PS: the answer to why I wanted to do this is simply that I thought it'd be fun and interesting!)
