First flight sim was AW on Earthlink, AOL, GameStorm. Can't remember the year.
Lost interest for awhile and then stumbled across AH just before they launched the first beta ... I'm gonna be here a long long time. :D
-
First flight sim was "top gun" in 2 colors, the F14s where in 3D squeletons. It was a 1 Vs 1 split screen game on an old console.
Then I went to Falcon CGA and F19 Retaliator from Microprose. (The ancester of F117).
Then all flight sims created till 3 years ago. With a lot of time on "the flight of the intruder" (awsome), and Falcon3.
First online was AW3 for 2y, then Ah since late Beta. 2 free months in WB at the time too :)

Ammo cannot stand to pay our P47s repair bill anymore ...
Santa even talked about awarding me the Iron Cross!!!

Lets see, when I was a wee lad, there was Microprose F-15 Stike Eagle and of course Jet! on the Commodore 64. Later on I was hooked on Parsoft's A-10 Cuba and Graphsim's F-18 Hornet on the Mac. Then HT and Caligula came out with the first mac beta for WarBirds sometime in '96 I think. WB was extremely addicting and I was stuck there for several years. I played AH starting the first day the beta ended but didn't start to really like it until the jug came out. ;)
-
I flew AW in its AOL and Gamestorm days. Been away from flight sims for about 2 years and man does it feel good to be back :D
-
1st Flight sim was on amber screen 15 years ago flying a "simulated" byplane across a box terrain with "mountains" on 2 sides, had a blast. Moved on to Red Baron then Secret weapons of the luftwaffe and Pacific Strike. I tried out and beat every lucas arts X-wing, Tie Fighter, & Bwing. Then I moved on to Air Warrior early '96. I played WB sometime in '97 but received a $250 bill for 2 months and decided I need food. Kept playing AW and any offline ww2 plane sim (Can't remember them all). I ended up AH in beta '99?? and have been a dedicated AH'r since.
After all this time and flying, I can now say "I auger with the best of em" :D
-
Around April of 1973, my father got my mom drunk and then, 8 months later (was 1 month premature) I popped out on December 3. Thats where I came from. :)
Seriously, this is my first online sim. I played all sorts of offline sims since my parents got the first family computer back in 83. In a way, I also came to AH by way of Rainbow 6 and Rogue Spear. One of my squaddies introduced me to AH in beta and I have never looked back (though I have tried WB and FA since... both lacked what I liked about AH or didn't do it as well).

Everyone came from somewhere...
i'm one of the AirWarrior refugees ... first came looking here early this year when EA took over AW, but quit because of the price.
now that AW will officially be pulled from the Net on Dec.6 i renewed my account.
started flying AW when Compuserve offered it in - '96 i think ... got really hooked during the massive Big Week beta scenario.
before that only off-line sims like Knights of the Sky (WWI) and F-16 on the Amiga.

I come from Fighter Duel. Hence the FD before my name. Fighter Duel was a unique flight sim because it had actual photo realistic instrument panels. Can any of you tell me where the fuel gauge on the P51D mustang is? After flying a few sorties in fighter duel you will be able too :)
-
Flown boxed sims for as long as I can remember.
Started up Warbirds in 1998 when I finally had money to spare. Somehow kept it up until 2000 when I quit and gave in to AH.
-
I flew Warbirds for a few years as a guy called Hash, And came to AH in version 1.2 was Called Odin for about a year now im just Beer. ;)
Oh yeah I also been in the Same squad since I started flightsims, Kampfgeschwader200 or KG200 for short, we all transfered here to AH at the same Time.
BTW Thank-you HTC for such a great damn game just wish I could afford to upgrade so I could play above 1fps :)

*Wonders if he knows Mathman*.
I started out with CFS (Combat Flight Simulator). I flew with RCAF over there then some of my squad mates started playing Rogue Spear so I went and played both.
Then I heard about WWII Online and I wanted to be a pilot. Then I started hearing about this AH and WB. That's all I heard too no names just initials. So I made a post asking what they were. Then I heard AH had a two week free trial. Here I am and I have been for about a year now. I love this game and some idiot even made me a XO of a squad. Now that's just plain scary!
I haven't met one person in this game I didn't like yet. As a person that is :D.
I love you guys! :D
-
AW dos till it went windows then WB dos then AH when they fixed the FM in I believe, 1.04. In other words... the logical progression.

My first multiplayer combat flight sim was a game called Ace of Aces. Instead of computers, both players had a book.
Many years later, I started playing in the Fighter Ace beta.
When Gamestorm went $10/month, I started playing AW II.
Played AH during the beta, and some the following summer, but didn't really have time for it until the next January.

Several box sims, did a little WB and AW here and there but made friends in FA and stayed thru 1.5 and 2 until I joined AH in version 1.03. Been here ever since :)

We talking Online MMOG games?
AW 1989-1992
CK(Warbirds) 1995?-Oct.1999 (Beta V.82>> V2.76)
AH Oct.1999-present.
-
AH has been my first MMOL flight sim. I first logged in shortly after getting internet connection at home. Before that I flew for a brief time in an online squad of Falcon 4.
Regarding how did I start on flight sims, my first flight sim was Spitfire 40, Amstrad CPC, can't recall the year. I was around 7-8 years old (can't recall it either :D) and loved it.
Then literally zillions of flight sims have passed thru my Amstrad, first, and PC,later :).
Frenchy, I recall Top Gun! was a very fun one to fly with another human. Those were good days, hehehe :)

1991 SWOTL
1992 AW Dos on Genie (5545)
1993 or 94 Switched ISP to cris (775) cause it was $1.50 an hour as opposed to the then current Genie price of $3 an hour.
Stayed with AW in it's various venues till March of this year when EA canned th volunteer staff. (Buzz, AWARBuzz and at least 50 shades handles)
When they canned Moggy and GE I closed my account.
Came here in March and I be a happy camper.

AW for DOS on GEnie....
AW for DOS on Cris/CRC (Concentric Research Corporation ?)...(2279, if I remember right)
Downloaded a "new" project by someone (can't recall his name) called Confirmed Kill which had canal/river systems remarkably similar to what I saw in AH's first beta maps ;-)
AH since open beta

Tried WB didn't like it much.
Flying Circus was a blast! (Any Wild Geese around?)
Tried AH, I don't think there is anything better.

AH is my first online flight sim, tho not my first MMOG, I played UO for several years.
I had Aces of the Pacific and Aces over Europe as boxed sims. So I was a complete newbie when I started flying in April. :)

started simming in 1983, you name it I tried it.
started online sims in 1996 with Air warrior up until last month
I Was a war bird beta tester for 3 years because one of my squaddies harrased,
(name with held to protect the inocent <G> ) Skip Stealy. They purged the database a couple of years back and I lost that gig :)
Flew the AH beta and have signed up 3 times after major patches but didnt stick with it until AW died a horrible EA death !
-
Came from WB ver 1.0x, played that for years (Bring back the days of a $200.00 WB monthly bill). Quit WB before AH started, but I've been with AH since beta days.

Hmmm. Well, box sims take us back to the old original Flight Simulator, starting 1985 for me. The LucasArts series after that, interspersed with some of those tedious jet games. Then along came Airwarrior for Windows, the Win 3.1 version of which was implemented on AOL in October 1996. I stayed there (in FR, as "Oldma" - I am frequently confused with the RR "Oldmn") for precisely five years, and would probably have stayed for another five years if the game hadn't gone TU. Now I'm one of the refugees here, trying hard not to open my mouth about anything until I've been around for awhile.

AW DOS circa '92 or '93...
$6/hour of GEnie, $700/month VISA bills...
Moved onto CRIS when AW went to $1.50/hour
and had alot more $$$ to do other things with...like also keep accounts on Delphi and AOHell.
Also flew a little in WB's but stayed mostly
in the AW arenas, especially for scenarios.
Still have my EA account untilthe day they
actually pull the plug on ARIES.
I've had this AH account for several months now. Never felt any need to check out any
other "sims" of "games"...
( GEnie tail # 4580, CRIS # 4516, Delphi...I forget )

FA 1.5 for me! I met up with this crazy band of guys and gals call the Musketeers and been with them ever since. I'm really quite surprised cause do to the fact that FA 1.5 and AH is all I've been a part from I assumed most people in here came from FA. Guess not. It's a great group of people in here...I've had a blast this last year or so!

First flight sim (if you can call it that) I ever flew was an old Nintendo game back when ninetendo first came out. It was a stealth fighter game from back when they thought the stealth fighter was called the F-19. I played it at a friends house and was hooked on flight sims forever. Then Top Gun, the same wire frame one the others were talking about.
First flight sim I owned was the old Battle of Britain. After that as near as I can remember the progression includes:
Falcon AT
Jetfighter 2
Secret weapons of the Luftwaffe
Aces of the Pacific
F-117 2.0
F-15E III
Comanche MO
Falcon 3.0
Combat Air Patrol
Red Baron
2 civilian flight sims and 1 WW1 sim that I cant remember the names of right now
Flight Unlimited II
Hind
Comanche 3
Janes Fighters Anthology
Janes Fighter Legends
Janes F-15
Janes Longbow II
Janes USAF
Falcon 4.0
Luftwaffe Commander
Red Baron 3d
European Air War
Microsoft Flight Sim 2000
Mig Alley
In addition, I also have played at least a dozen other major sims at other peoples houses or as demos.
After playing all these boxed single player sims since I was in grade school I finally got the chance to play an online sim in college back in 1997. It was the F-22 Raptor demo that Novalogic allowed multiplayer access to online. That hooked me on multiplayer style flight sims. The one that I originally owned was Fighters Anthology. I played that one to death but it was hard to find people to play against there at college and I never could get the Janes site to work right in the lab computers. I tried Air Warrior III and Warbirds during this time period but they barely worked on the lab computers except offline which isnt much fun in either of those. After I graduated from college and got cable modem I wanted to get more involved in playing flight sims online. I tried playing EAW in the gaming zone but there was hardly ever anybody there. Then one day I read a glowing review on combatsim.com about AH. I came over in June I think it was, to check it out, and signed up for the free trial period. I loved it from the first flight. However, the 30 dollars a month initially kept me away. After the price dropped, I signed up immediately. I have to say that I was so addicted that I probably would have signed up eventually, even if price had remained the same. From my slight experience with Warbirds and Air Warrior (a few flights online only in each)I can say this is 100% superior. I have been playing AH for about 3 months now I think it is not counting the trial period and I love it more all the time.

When everyone else was flying AW on Genie I was there blowing stuff up playing Cyberstrike. Played RB on TSN/INN then found warbirds way back, and have been engaged in online prop sims since. Good hobby and good people.

Hellcat Ace, Flight Simulator, Mig Alley Ace on the C64.
Falcon 3.0, Jane's ATF, and lots of offline DOS AW on the PC.
Began AW4DOS on AOL in January 1997 (my reason for joining AOL.)
Went to Gamestorm at the start, and hung around until they canned Moggy and GE.
Became a paying AHer at that point.
That is all.
