Nah, later version than the "C" Hog - note twin air scoops on each side of the nose cowling.

Have to say F4U-5N.

"N" because of the flash hiders on the 20mm cannons.

Hey Gainsie! (Waves) :D

...and the plate just above the exhaust pipes. Split between the top and bottom cowl flaps. ie not continuous around the cowling

Hey Skippa!

Yes you have it. It's the F4U-5N...note the profile of the hog. It's closer to horizontal because of the longer tail wheel assembly, introduced with the F4U-4. of course the cannons, cowl, and intake are also noted features. too bad the war ended in 45 and not 48, huh?

Nice try, everyone! :) Nearly fooled me at first, too!
 See you in the CT

I think it's an F-2G Super Corsair, used for shooting down kamikazes late in the war, with it's amazing speed.

Nope, for there is no big air scoop on top of the cowl and the cowl is not long enough for the R-4360. They had bubble canopies. Also it had dual exhaust scalloping on each side of the fuselage.

And the Super Corsair was much MUCH bigger, but it never saw operation
