by Dread Zeppelin
I've mentioned this band a few times here..finally D/L'd Kazaalite and got a few of their tunes.
If anyone wants a copy of this tune I can zip it and e-mail it, messenger it, or you can D/L it for yourself.
Possibly the best cover of a song I've heard....I like it better than the original.
-
Every new band today tries to sound like Led Zepplin. Buncha copy cats...all these new fangled artists are...

Ramble On is one of my favorite Led Zep songs. Probably due to the LOTR connection.
-
Weazel..will do, when I get home.
Rip...these guys aren't new they've been around for years, I just assumed they were a typical Led Zep cover band and ignored them when I used to go see bands in Toronto. But they are far from typical.
They take Led Zeppelin tunes and "reggae" them up...but the lead singer is an Elvis Impersonator. A truly rare mix...but they do it brilliantly.

These guys are great.

I had sooooo many opportunities to see them and just didn't go. Really wish I had...do they still play live?
-
It may be the "coolest" cover tune, but I still say the best (or at least one of the best) is Hendrix covering All Along the Watchtower.
Personally, I don't really think Dread Zep is all that "great", I think they are... "funny". :)

"Doing the Claw,,,,, Do it Reggea style,,,,,
Doing the Claw,,,,, Do it clam bake style"
another favorite-
"Big ol Gold Belt"
You havn't lived until you see the Dred in concert.
-
they don't have to be great musicians to sound good or make me like them. Led Zepplin, dread zep, whomever..
if it sounds good go with it.
kinda like why I liked ZZ Top stuff... easy to play but fun to listen to
-
Anybody been to a rush concert?

I don't remember the name but I think the original artist was Argent.
No lyrics that I recall, but has a driving drum beat to it.
There was a techno version released in the late 80s-early 90s, it's played during NFL games sometimes.
Anyone know the name of it and where I can get an mp3 of it?
-

Argent - Hold Your Head up?

Weazel...just got home...
Damn...the file is still too big to send through Yahoo, even zipped. I'll put it on a zip disk and take it back to the office tomorrow and mail it from there.
Sorry for the delay.

There's no substitute for Led Zepplin. I was able to see them twice in concert and the shows were great.
I talked to someone not too long ago that was raving about "Last Kiss" by Pearl Jam. I told him that the song was originally recorded in the early sixties and that Pearl Jam's version absolutely stunk.

You are thinking of Gary Glitter...
I think the tune is Rock and Roll #2 or something like that.. too lazy to look it up.

Weazel,
I sent it...crossing my fingers that the firewall here allowed it through.
Let me know.

If not... I can probably send a copy.
