Title: US guys help
Post by: Vulcan on January 07, 2003, 02:45:49 PM
Are you lot still on holiday?

I'm having a wee bit of trouble with an online retailer (http://www.radar-guys.com) . I've dealt with them 3 times before no problems, but this time they've double billed my cc and the goods got picked up but UPS returned them to the sender (tracking said they required an IRS number for the receiver).

They haven't responded to my emails some I'm wondering if they've closed up for the break?

OK I think I'll start going into hissy fit mode.

gofaster you're a hypocrite! :D

Actually I ordered a detector for a friend, he likes my Bel 980 coz it picks up speed cameras. And I ordered a Bel Laserpro 905, I already have a laser jammer but its front firing only (saved my butt at 1am this morning from a $200 fine), and our cops are starting to do the Rosco P Coltraine Speedtrap from behind move. The Bel 905 has a rear jammer as well as the same front jamming layout I currently have.

The problem is I can't jam radar, but I usually get plenty of warning. Although I was thinking of saving up for one of these: http://www.raytheon.com/products/harm/

Do you think it'll do K, and Ka band?

Could just be a Mom & Pop with poor customer service (and apparently shipping and order processing). Not really a rare breed on the Web and you have had some good service in the past which is a good sign.

Couldn't find a phone no. or address on the site -- that's a deal breaker for me from the start. [Spoke too soon. Try giving them a call: http://www.radar-guys.com/contac.htm]

If it's on your cc and you cannot contact them, contact the bank behind the cc . Tell them the problem, they should be able to pull your money back.

Wait a second here. I must be high. Is it just me or do they lead you on here like they're giving you real contact information, but there's no actual numbers.

Found this on the order.htm page:

"CALL US
Toll Free for payment method, or use our local line at, 317 842 3428. You can get shipping and stock level info by clicking the gray button on the product page. We can no longer accept phone orders. When you place an order, you have the option of submitting your payment information by secure online server, by fax to numbers on 3 continents, or by calling in to our order line operators, they answer 24/7/365. Also, you can check our FAQ page or send us email, for a rapid answer to most questions."

But then check this out:
"and that other thing
If you must, turn back the clock 20 years and send us snail mail in La Canada, CA 91011"

On the contac.htm page it has an entirely different city, state and zip code.
