i type .showjoin everytime i log in it tells me the request will appear on the message bar, but they still appear in the middle of the screen as i am diving on a tempest.
frankly i'm diddlying tired of this. it does NOT work.

Yep, its broken. ".showjoin" has never displayed join requests anywhere but right in the center of the screen.

True, but this isn't the place to discuss it. Cursing at HTC isn't the polite way to discuss it either, broken or not.

Vurth - This does not affect you as much as people at the beginning of the alphabet (0osik starts with a zero - don't ask). Newbie log on and want to see how things work, somehow the find the join under roster in the clipboard. Guess what it show them alphabetically and they start at the top of the list.
Now maybe the great Gods at HT could some how program that list so that it gives the plane type and or location (there is little reason to join a ships gunner (I have been requested several times). Or at least so that Vurth is at the top of the list!

i am not cursing at hitech, i am cursing the fact that i lose every third fight because someone is trying to join my plane.
on prime time, it happens on EVERY flight a few times. thats why i am unable to do bombing missions, and when i do jabo, i have to be lucky not to be bothered when i am deacking a field.
i have lost an me262, yesterday a f4u-4, because i got the join request in the middle of a big fight. i sit pretty far back from my desk, and to set the deny, i am out of the fight for a few precious seconds, and i lose my SA completly.

It's happened to me to..I was a 262 diving on a b17, and some moron sends a join request just as i am d1.0 from the b17. I dove from above, and i was lucky, as he only got 1 engine, and some guns. I think the join request should not work while you are in flight. It has proven to be more of an annyoiance, then a help

I think there should NOT be a .join command at all. I think better could be maybe .invite command. There is too much people who try to join without asking first.

People that know me will tell you I dont freak out on Channel 1 very often at all. The Squad channel is anthor story, lol.
Well I freaked 2 nights ago when some hosehead decided to send me a join command as I was attacking a b26 in my 38 (It promptly wacked me). It is VERY annoying and I can only imagine what its like for the more well known sticks w/in the Arena.
I agree w/Animal and others...it needs to be fixed or changed.

.showjoin has never worked for me. I get the "request to join of death" alot because my id is usually visual near the top of the roster.

Maybe you guys need to try to be more anti-social.
Works for me, no one EVER tries to join my plane. :)

If you reply "Yes" to the 1st one Animal, no other will be able to join you during that flight. It is also a good incentive to try live and refuel as many times as possible without replaning.
(Only gets interesting whle in a fighter)

HTC needs to remove join button off clip board like it was before 1.08
then when someone wanted to join the HAD to find out how the type .join XXX

right at the moment you are merging ... please fix or remove option or have a way to stop the request, a "Do Not Disturb" message the requestor would get without interrupting you.

Happens to me all the time and jsut like everyone else its not while im sitting on the RW, its nearly always when im tactical.
I guess us "A" guys get the short end of the stick on this deal... but think of poor old "0234430" and "112202002".. them and there likeness right at the top of the list.
Poor bastards.. the horror.

Provided that the GUI portion is removed entirely as an option, I agree fully.
A cardinal rule of online gaming; NEVER EVER allow someone else to mess with my FE in such a substantive way. The GUI aspect of the .join command does exactly that and breaks this most basic rule.
