You tell me if I'm flying too high
-
nice formation... but not very practical or safe to fly that close in microgravity with full thrust being applied. you would almost have to have a network linking all ships so that they all thrust at the same exact moment, and a computer making tiny thrusts to maintain position.
It's airshow pretty, and with conventional aircraft in atmospheric fight, it would be a good way to concentrate firepower on a large target. But in space, you don't really have to have your nose pointed at what your shooting, so wouldn't you want to have your ships dispersed a bit more for safety?
I'm just giving you a hard time. Nice pic, nice model. :)
-
ya, Orbiter is a nice game.
-
I have something that may get them to dive though
-
Isnt those from some 80's movie? (first post)
Where do you get that program? is it a game or just a program?
-

The ships are from Babalon 5.
The game is a freeware space flight simulator alot like Microsoft Flight simulator. Very complex, but no combat. I added the StarFury fighters because they're a favorite of mine.
I am currently adding the Millenium Falcon for fun right now.

And she is done. I'm not going to waste any more time on this one.

you're not?.......:D

Nope. There is always room for improvments to the models. Glass for instance.
Instead I've decided to start making more models. Different models. Like space stations and such.
-
like this rocket shuttle

Did you do FM to it or just model? I'd like to fly that...
-
Well, I did the flight model too, if you can call it that. The flight model just simply has the Millenium Falcon with main, retro, and hover thrusters. It won't fly areodynamically. It does have a long lasting fuel supply and alot of thrust. Wings are not needed.
In fact test flying it I actually started to get re-entry flames over the ship's hull while in a shallow climb. Thats alot of power.

How about a download link? :)
or email is simfreak777@hotmail.com

The game itself, called Orbiter.

The addon repository (actually it's a site for alot of different flight sims, including orbiter.

Thanks

Your welcome.
Pardon this screenshot, but somebody on Orbitersim forums is trying to figure out some 3D C.A.D. program and needs some help.
-
And another rocket.
You guys should check this game out. If you like flight sims, this one is tough to beat.
-
She is up and flying now
-
And the radical areobrake/parachute design I am going to use. This comes from the Avco corporation, not my own twisted mind.
-
A better view of the Shuttle C
-
And her Roton landing style capsule.
Better than that contraption I had above.
-
My moon lander.
-
I prefer my TBM-Avenger :D
-
Yeah, well I just can't help myself. The Shuttle-C wasnt' big enough. A paltry 80 metric tonnes to low Earth Orbit. Phah!
Try this guy. Ares two stage rocket with advanced solid rocket boosters. 120 metric tonnes to low Earth Orbit.
Now we're talking Mars flights by humans!
