Has this ever happened to you? Your flying along in your B-17 or Lancaster, fairly high up there. There is NOBODY around. Your on auto pilot, straight and level, not stressing the airframe in anyway, then Crunch, no bullet or cannon shell "hit sound" but your wing is gone,  your on fire, you bail out "so and so shot you down". you look around in your chute, no enemy planes around, no "engine sounds" can be heard from your chute. You ask Mr so and so about it on private ( we will cal mr. so and so er13 ) no response.

Makes ya go Hmmm , don't it?

kinda like flyin flat and level at 25k with no enemy's within 25 miles of ya and *poof* your in the tower. "you have been killed"

spontainious combustion maybe?

Never had it happen to me m8. But that is very weird all the same.  :confused:


I wonder if it is that new Luftwaffe '46 stealth plane HTC is working on....  :p

Happend to me few times:

I change between gunnery places to check airspace (its empty)around my B17 and then back to the cockpit and straight to the bomber place... Crahs Boom Bang!

Plane looks like it pitch up very violently and rip its wings off.

My Saitek X36 usb HOTAS do not have spikes.

Or, fly level and enter false name into radio  so that it gives an error screen. Then hit enter. ZAP! Your plane has disappeared and you drop towards the earth with not even a falling plane in sight. Magic.

One answer for that is that you got hit by either a 262 or a 30mm armed waffle prop plane.

It only takes 2 hits to snap off a part, and if these planes are diving on you (props) or came from straight below you at 600mph (262), by the time you react and get on external views, the attackers are beyond icon range.

These things do happen. I had a film where I was landing after a sortie with no damage. There was an enemy circling high above the field but nobody anywhere near.. I started to land the plane and at about 200ft high *snap* in the tower.

The guy circling above the field got awarded a kill, but I asked him and he didn't attack me.. So I just insta-died for no reason while on landing run.

I watched the film, no plane, no tracers, no hits no parts falling. Just straigth in the tower.

Sounds like somehting that is shortly after followed buy a anal-probing..  :)


Seriously though, i had something like that happen to me except i was in a jug around 8k on my way back to base after a fight. There was a spit near buy, he was 2.3k behind me co-alt and lesser E.. i thought nothing of him and rolled a few times(looking around) ensuring my safe travel home.. all looked good and WACK!!!! my wing came off. I looked around in my chute and all i could see was the spit still 2k back and closing.
weird stuff..

i think we may be seeing a issue of serious lag. The only reason i think this is because that same spit i watched him try to HO the guy infront of me prior to this, comming in REAL steap and auger nose first into the ground, disapear and reapear going the opposite direction from behind me.

I was flying in the MA today when I was hit by .50s and lost an elevator.  I started down towards my base unable to see the bandit when I was hit again and lost an aileron.  As I landed, I was hit again and awarded a maneuver kill.

I recorded the flight and wanted to see how I could just plain miss an airplane.  I didn't.  He was invisible.

Actually, if you have really been killed by "Magic" you will see the following message in the Ch 6 com buffer:

:You have been killed by Magic.

All other mysterious deaths are from .Voodoo, NOT Magic.  Just wanted to be clear on this
